  • Reasoning Ability

The candidates who passed the prelims exam get qualified for the second phase of the selection process. It is to be noted that the bank shortlists candidates approximately 10 times the number of vacancies for the second stage, i.e., the SBI Clerk Mains Exam.

Stage 2: SBI Clerk Mains Exam

The bank will provide the minimum qualifying marks for the SBI Clerk Mains examination. Candidates will have to score higher marks than the minimum qualifying marks to qualify in the SBI Clerk Mains examination.

Based on the candidate’s aggregate marks in the SBI Clerk Mains exam, the bank prepares a merit list of candidates for provisional selection. Furthermore, the bank prepares the merit list for respective States / UTs in case of any reservations. The candidates whose names are on the merit list get qualified for the third/final stage.

Stage 3 / Final Stage: Test of Specified Opted Local Language

The final selection of the candidates is based upon the test of specified opted local language and verification of eligibility for the post. Moreover, SBI disqualifies candidates who are not proficient in the local language. Also, candidates need not have to take the ‘specified opted local language test’ if they produce 10th or 12th standard marksheet/ certificate stating that they have studied the specified opted local language.
