Mode of Examination | The BITSAT 2021 is conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode only. Candidates are required to choose the correct option out of the incorrect options. The computer-based test may be tricky if the candidates do not have proper knowledge of how to mark the answers. The user interface of the exam is to be known by the candidate before they appear for the online exam. All the features in the examination must be known to the candidate. Examination Level | The BITSAT 2021 is conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science. According to the thumb rule, as BITS is a private institute, the BITSAT is categorised as the university-level examination. Candidates can get admission into the affiliated campuses of BITS by qualifying the BITSAT cutoff. |
Type of Question | Birla Institute of Technology and Science accepts the objective type question pattern for the BITSAT. Objective type questions are also known as the multiple-choice questions (MCQ), the name MCQ suggests multiple choices for one question. One question has four options, out of these four options one option is correct. Candidates are required to mark the option which is correct. The test takers who will mark the correct option will be marked positively, however, the candidates marking the incorrect option will be marked negatively. As per the marking scheme, candidates will not be marked on the basis of unattempted questions. Thus, candidates must mark the question in which they are confirmed about the answer. |
Sections in Exam | BITSAT is conducted for four sections in total. Similar to most of the engineering entrance exams, the three sections out of the four in the BITSAT are Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Other than PCM, candidates are required to answer the questions from English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning. These sections are named as parts, candidates need to attempt questions from all the parts. |
Number of Question and Marks per section | The BITSAT will contain four sections. There are a total of 150 questions in BITSAT. These 150 questions are divided amongst all the four sections. Physics and Chemistry section of BITSAT has an equal weightage of questions and marks. Whereas, Mathematics will notice a slight increase in the question and marks weightage. Part III in the BITSAT, that is, Logical reasoning and English Proficiency will have the least weightage among all the parts. For the 150 questions, a maximum of 450 marks can be allocated to a candidate who marks all the correct responses in the BITSAT 2021. |

Exam Duration – The BITSAT is conducted for a total duration of three hours (180 minutes). Candidates are required to complete the entire exam that is all the four sections combined within the time of one hundred eighty minutes or three hours.
