How to Check UPSC CDS Result 2023?

UPSC releases the Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam merit list online through its official website. Candidates who want to download the merit list PDF from the official website can follow the steps given below:

  • 1st Step: Go to the official website of UPSC, i.e., upsc.gov.in.
  • 2nd Step: Click on the tab ‘Examination’.
  • 3rd Step: Then click on ‘Active Examinations’ from the drop-down menu.
  • 4th Step: Click on the ‘Combined Defence Services Examination 2023’ link.
  • 5th Step: Scroll down and click on the PDF link provided to download the name list and CDS 1 Result 2023.
  • 6th Step: A PDF with the roll numbers of selected candidates will appear on the screen. Press ‘Ctrl + F’ and search for the roll number. If it is on the list, they qualify for the written exam.

  • 5th Step: Search and select “UPSC CDS” on the search bar and click on “Next”.

CDS Merit List 2023

The CDS merit list PDF consists of names and roll numbers of qualified candidates. The exam authority compiles a list of applicants who achieve the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam. Separate merit lists will be released for the written exam and final result.

However, the final merit list will be released separately for IMA, INA, and AFA and separately for OTA candidates. They need to search for their ‘Roll Number’ to know whether or not they have qualified for the exam.

UPSC CDS Scorecard 2023

The CDS mark sheet 2023 will be released within 15 days after the release of the final result. Candidates must enter their ‘Roll Number’ and ‘Date of Birth’ to check the marks. The scorecard will include the candidate’s roll number, date of birth, name, total marks obtained in the written exam and SSB Interview, final total marks, etc. The mark sheet will also be provided to the candidates who will not get selected after the SSB interview.

UPSC CDS Score Calculation Process

The UPSC calculates the CDS score using the procedure outlined below:

  • Candidates will receive one mark for each right answer.
  • 1/3 marks will be deducted as a negative marking for each incorrect response.
  • If a candidate selects more than one option, it will be considered a wrong response, and negative marks will be assigned.
  • The total CDS score will be calculated based on candidates’ correct and incorrect responses.

What After UPSC CDS Result 2023?

After releasing the UPSC CDS written exam merit list, candidates need to register themselves at the recruiting directorate website. Candidates who have chosen IMA/OTA as the top priority need to register at the Join India Army official website. Those who already registered on the recruiting directorate website are advised not to register again.

As per the schedule, applicants registered on the directorate site will be called for the SSB interview. Candidates whose roll number is on the merit list must submit their documents and photo-attested copies. The verification of these candidates’ Date of Birth and Educational Qualification will be done by the Army Quarter.

Documents Required After CDS 2023 Result

Qualified candidates are required to submit the original certificates in support of age, educational qualifications, and NCC (C) certificate, along with attested copies to the Army Headquarters:

  • SSB call letter
  • Matriculation or 10th class mark sheet
  • Intermediate or 12th or equivalent certificate
  • Original Graduation degree certificate with mark sheets
  • Post-graduation degree certificate and mark sheets (if mentioned in the qualification filled in the application form)
  • NCC Certificates (if required)
  • Identity proof like an Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Pan Card, Passport
  • The final-year students and candidates whose results are awaited need to have a certificate issued by the principal.

CDS Medical Test

After clearing the SSB Interview, a candidate needs to undergo medical tests. If the candidate is not fit, they will be rejected irrespective of whether or not they have cleared the CDS exam and SSB Interview.

However, if the candidate suffers from medical issues that can be treated, they will be given a specific time until they become fit. Candidates are also required to submit all their original documents.
