Additionally, the candidate must be physically fit and meet the height and weight requirements of the SPG.

Step 2: Join the Indian Armed Forces

The SPG is a particular unit of the Indian Armed Forces. Its members come from different parts of the army. So, interested candidates have to join the Indian Armed Forces before they can become an SPG Commando. One can do this by taking the National Defence Academy (NDA) test after finishing 10+2 or the Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam after completing graduation. After passing the exams, the candidate must undergo rigorous training at various training academies.

Step 3: Gain Experience and Skills

The candidate must gain knowledge and skills in their branch of the Indian Armed Forces after they finish their training. This includes serving in combat zones, participating in joint drills with other countries, and participating in other specialised training programmes. The individual must also learn skills like how to use a gun, fight close up, and plan tactics.

Step 4: Apply for the SPG

Candidates can apply for the SPG once they have gained enough knowledge and skills. The process of getting hired is minimal and difficult. There are written and physical tests, medical exams, and interviews. For the candidate to be chosen for training, they must pass all of the tests.

Step 5: Undergo Training

Candidates who are chosen must undergo a lot of training at the SPG training centre in Gurgaon, Haryana. The training is meant to prepare the candidates for the difficulties of protecting the Prime Minister and their families. The training covers physical fitness, shooting, close fighting, tactical planning, and other skills needed for the job.

Step 6: Specialize in a Particular Skill

Focus on a certain skill SPG Commandos need to have more than just basic training. They also need to have specialised skills. So, once the spies finish their basic training, they must choose a skill to focus on, like close protection, anti-sabotage, or communication. This gives them a better chance of handling whatever comes up while protecting the Prime Minister.

Step 7: Maintain Physical Fitness and Skills

Being an SPG, The job of a commando is hard on the body and needs a high fitness level. So, even after their training is over, commandos must keep up their physical strength and skills. This means working out regularly, practising shooting, and participating in other specific training programmes.

They are protecting the Prime Minister and their family a vital for the SPG Commandos. So, they have to serve the country with commitment and loyalty. To protect the Prime Minister, they must always be on guard and ready to handle any situation.
