NDA & NA EE Selection Process 2023: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the NDA & NA EE exam. Furthermore, UPSC prescribed the selection process for NDA in its official notification. UPSC follows a two-stage process to select candidates for vacancies in National Defence Academy and Naval Academy. The first stage is a written exam. The UPSC NDA & NA EE selection procedure comprises the following stages:
Written Examination
SSB Test/ Interview
The Commission releases the final result based on the written exam and interviews. Candidates who have cleared both stages need to submit their documents or certificates. Furthermore, the officials will call all the qualified candidates for medical examination. Candidates who are medically fit get admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy.

NDA Selection: Written Exam
In the first stage of the selection process, UPSC conducts a written exam for candidates who have successfully applied for the exam. The NDA & NA EE exam consists of two subjects. Furthermore, the maximum marks for the written exam are 900 marks. Candidates can check the UPSC NDA exam pattern from the table below:

Important Points:
The UPSC NDA exam comprises objective-type questions.
For each correct answer, candidates get 2.5 marks in Mathematics.
Aspirants get four marks for each correct answer in GAT.
One-third of the marks allotted to the question will be deducted as negative markings for each incorrect answer.

NDA Selection: SSB Interview
Candidates who clear the written exam are called for SSB tests/ interviews. The interviews will be held by the Services Selection Board (SSB) of the Ministry of Defence. The complete SSB procedure is divided into the following two stages:
Stage 1 involves Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT). The officials shortlist candidates based on the combined performance in OIR Test and PP&DT.
Stage 2 comprises Interviews, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and the Conference. In this stage, the personality of candidates is assessed by three different assessors viz. the Interviewing Officer (IO), Group Testing Officer (GTO), and Psychologist. Furthermore, assessors provide marks after considering all these tests.
