NDA Notification 2023: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) issued the NDA 1 notification 2023 on December 21, 2022. Candidates were allowed to apply online for the exam until January 12, 2023, from the official website – upsc.gov.in. The NDA 1 exam will be conducted on April 16, 2023. The admit card for this exam has been released on March 24, 2023.

NDA Exam 2023 Notification

The UPSC released NDA notification 2023 pdf for NDA 1 exam on December 21, 2022, at upsc.gov.in, declaring 395 vacant positions for boys and girls to be hired for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy for the year 2023. This exam is held twice a year for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA and Indian Naval Academy Courses (INAC). UPSC NDA 1 2023 Vacancy

NDA Salary 2023

The NDA salary is INR 56,100 for the entire duration of training in service academies. Following successful training, the Officer Commissioned’s salary will be fixed in the first Cell of Level 10.

UPSC NDA Eligibility 2023

To be eligible for the exam, candidates must meet the following NDA 2023 eligibility criteria:

  • Nationality: The candidate should be an Indian or a citizen of Bhutan/Nepal or a Tibetan refugee or have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam.
  • Age Limit, Gender, and Marital Status: Both male and female candidates for the NDA 1 exam must have been born between July 2, 2004, and July 1, 2007.
  • Educational Qualification: Different academies have different educational requirements. Candidates can see the educational criteria in the table below.

How to Apply Online for NDA 2023 Recruitment?

The online application form for the UPSC NDA 1 2023 exam was made available on December 21, 202. However, the NDA 2 registration will be active from May 17, 2023. Candidates must follow the stepwise procedure to apply for this exam:

  • 1st Step: Go to the official website of UPSC: upsconline.nic.inNote that the link might show that the connection is not secure for mobile users. So, go to “Advanced” and click on “Proceed to upsconline.nic.in”.
  • 2nd Step: Click on Online Application for Various Examinations of UPSC and then on the relevant link to apply for NDA 2023 Exam.
  • 3rd Step: A new page will appear where candidates must fill in Part-I and Part-II to complete the application procedure.
  • 4th Step: In Part I, candidates must enter their personal details and other information to register themselves. Upon successful registration, a registration ID will be generated. This registration ID will be required to proceed to Part II of filling up the NDA Application Form.
  • 5th Step: In Part II, candidates must enter their payment details and preferred examination centre and upload a photograph, signature, document, and photo identity.
  • 6th Step: Agree to the terms and conditions.
  • 7th Step: Click on Submit NDA Application form.

NDA 2023 Application Fee

The application fee for the UPSC NDA 2023 exam as per the official notification is given in the below table. The fee can be paid in both offline and online modes.

  • Offline Mode: Candidates are required to submit a pay-in slip to any branch of SBI.

NDA 2023 Selection Process

There are two stages in the NDA selection process, i.e. Written Test and SSB Interview. Candidates must clear the written examination to move to the second stage, i.e. SSB Interview. After the SSB interview, document verification and medical examination will be conducted. Based on the final merit list, candidates will be asked to report for the medical examination.

After selection, candidates must undergo training and on successful completion of training, they will serve as an Indian Army/ Navy/ Air Force Officer.

NDA 2023 Exam Pattern

The NDA 1 Exam 2023 will have only objective-type questions. The questions will be asked in English as well as Hindi. Check the detailed pattern from the below table:

The NDA Exam has negative markings. One-third of the marks allotted to a question will be reduced on every wrong attempt.

NDA 2023 Syllabus

Candidates appearing for the NDA 1 2023 exam must prepare for subjects like Mathematics, General Knowledge and English Subjects.

Mathematics: Integral calculus and Differential Equations, Matrices & Determinants, Algebra, Analytical Geometry of two and three Dimensions, Statistics and Probability, Trigonometry, Differential Calculus, Vector Algebra, etc.

English: The candidate will be assessed based on the understanding of English and workman, like the use of words. This syllabus will cover Grammar and Usage, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Antonyms and Synonyms.

General Knowledge: The question paper on General Knowledge will cover the subjects like Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography and Current Events.

NDA 1 SSB Interview 2023

The SSB Interview comprises various psychological and intelligence tests, which will be conducted for 5 days. Candidates who pass the written exam must participate in a two-stage interview process administered by officials. Those who advance to the interview round must provide a birth certificate and pass certificate.

NDA Exam 2023 Admit Card

The NDA 1 admit card 2023 has been released on March 24, 2023. The candidates can download the hall ticket from the official website of UPSC. The hall ticket can be downloaded by logging in with the roll number or registration number. The candidates will not get any hard copy of their hall ticket via post.

NDA Exam 2023 Result

The written and final results will be released online in two stages. A merit list for both stages will be released on the day of the NDA result. The results will be made available on the official website of the UPSC. It will comprise of both the roll number and the names of the selected candidates. Candidates whose names will be present in the NDA Result PDF are required to appear for the SSB Interview. 

NDA 2023 Cut-off

The NDA cut-off is the minimum qualifying mark applicants must achieve in order to pass the exam and advance to the next round of selection. Following the completion of the hiring procedure, the cut-off marks for the written exam and SSB interview will be released separately. Candidates have to score at least 25% marks in each subject.
