NDA Preparation Tips 2022

Planning and Preparation are two important factors to crack any exam. Irrespective of the coaching classes, you should have a complete plan to crack the NDA exam. Self-study is a significant factor as relying on coaching classes alone is not advisable.

NDA Study Plan

Here we are providing a complete strategy and guidelines to boost up your NDA exam preparation:

  1. Be Thorough With The Syllabus & Exam Pattern: First, go through the NDA exam pattern and selection process. Then have a clear understanding of the NDA syllabus – know the various concepts included in the syllabus. Once you have explicit knowledge of the syllabus and exam pattern, you will find it easier to plan your preparation.
  2. Prioritise Your Tasks: You need to categorise the different concepts in the syllabus into complex and easy concepts. Also, the relevance to the exam must be taken into consideration. Your focus should be on the difficult and important concepts for the exam. You need to spend more time on these concepts and practice them more.
  3. Create a Realistic Timetable: Now take a pen and paper and write how much you can study daily (how many hours), and the number of topics you need to cover, and from that, find out how much time would it take to complete. Based on that, allocate your time for every subject. Allocate time for each activity, like learning new concepts, solving practice questions, and revision. Set daily, weekly and monthly goals so that you can complete the syllabus on time.
However, uncertainties are always there, and there will be a time when you are unable to follow your timetable. So, be prepared and learn how to maintain a balance to get on track.
  4. Clear Your Basics: Now, start by brushing up on the theories of concepts that you have already finished. Clear your basics for them first for concepts that you are not confident in or haven’t studied before.
  5. Make Notes of Important Points: Make notes of or at least highlight the equations, formulas, etc. Memorise them by heart. Please go through them and practice them regularly until you familiarise. Visuals have longer tendencies to stay in mind. So, please practice drawings as well. Make notes from the NDA Books recommended by Embibe.
  6. Practice Diligently: Every time you finish a chapter, solve as many practice questions as possible. Maintain a separate notebook for practising. It will help you a lot in last-minute revision. Mark the questions that you find challenging to practice later.
Remember that practice doesn’t mean you will spend one week learning the same concept. You need to spend only the required amount of time on every chapter. The main aim of practice here is not to master that particular chapter. You need to learn enough not to forget the method or concept. Mastering a specific concept will happen gradually as you revise and practice.
  7. Revise Regularly: Make sure you revise what you have learned on a regular basis. Otherwise, you will forget. The best way to revise is to take small tests in English and GK. For Physics, Chemistry and Maths, you can solve Class 12 PCM Practice Questions. Go through your notes, practice notebooks, and practice the difficult formulas and questions.
  8. Finish The Easy Topics First: With time in hand, go for the easier topics first because you will be able to finish them fast and have enough time left for difficult topics. It will ensure you finish most of the syllabus.
  9. Take Regular Breaks: Give your mind regular breaks to freshen up. Sometimes it’s best to engage yourself in something not related to exams. Playing sports or going for a walk will be helpful. Do not misunderstand when we say relax. Watching Netflix series or playing PUBG is not called relaxing.
Do not study for long hours at a stretch. Study only for 2 hours and then take a 20-30 minutes break. However, when the exams are near, you cannot afford to take frequent breaks.
  10. Take Help of Your Teachers and Friends: Discuss what you have learned or where you get stuck with your friends and teachers. Clear your doubts. You might even find a different approach to arrive at the answer, or you will learn some new things.
  11. Do Not Compromise With Your Health: Take enough sleep and drink enough water. Eat healthy food. No matter what, do not compromise on your health.

NDA Preparation 2022

Calculus (Integration and Differentiation) has to be covered first. If you check the previous year’s papers, you will get at least 30 questions that were asked from these two chapters. These two chapters are very scoring and recommendable. The candidates who do not have Mathematics in their higher secondary level will have to cover the basics first. Therefore spend at least 2 or 3 hours on these two chapters every day. Refer to the NCERT Mathematics books or RD Sharma.

The second most important chapter is Matrices, straight lines, and 3D Geometry. At least 10 questions will come from these chapters. Finish Arithmetic Progressions, Geometric Progressions, Probability, and Trigonometry as well. If you finish all these chapters, then you will cover 120 questions

For General Ability, brush up on History, Civics, and Geography and brush up on high school’s NCERT textbooks. For Physics and Chemistry, refer to the NCERT textbooks of Class 11 and 12.
