Previous Year’s Papers For a Good Rank in JEE Advanced

Solving a good number of previous years’ IIT papers for scoring more marks in JEE Advanced is a good idea. However, only solving the question papers will not give a strong understanding of the concepts, and you can not score a good rank. Aspirants will only need to take as many mock tests as possible.

If you try those questions, you will reach depression for most of the part. Some of those questions are under easy sections but might not be helpful if you want to score an AIR of less than or equal to 500. So first, gather the concepts as fast as you can, then concentrate and practice well.

Suppose you have less time for preparation; rather than solving only the previous year’s papers, you must focus on covering the important topics, revise basic concepts, take mock tests and follow other simple tips listed below to score less than or equal to rank 500 in JEE Advanced 2022.

3. Learn Basic Concepts and Solve Numerical Problems

If you are preparing for the JEE Advanced having strong conceptual knowledge is very important. Memorising the formula or a theorem may get you a good ranking in JEE mains, but it is not the same case in JEE Advanced. To clear JEE Advanced with less than 500 rank, you must have strong skills and expertise to solve high-level problems. Making wild guesses or any illogical trick will not work, and you will only end up with low marks.

Solving numerical problems will require a strong understanding of fundamental concepts. To score more ranking, you must focus on problems with numerical values and have good knowledge of formulas, theorems, constant values, logs, squares, and cubes.

4. Solve Previous Year Question Papers and Mock Tests

After covering all the important topics, you must solve a good number of previous year’s question papers. Solving IIT JEE Advanced previous year question papers will help you understand the exam pattern, difficulty level, question weightage and also the marking scheme. This will also help you to understand whether you have missed any important topic and enhance your preparation to score well in the exam.

Embibe also provides subject-wise mock tests for JEE Advanced. Log in to the app and solve as many JEE Advanced mock tests as possible. At the end of each mock test, feedback will be given through which you can know your strong and weak points. It will help you to improve your weak points and keep track of your performance.

5. Know Your Strengths and Weaknesses

As the exam approaches, you might feel stressed out and confused about what to study and whatnot. As the JEE Advanced syllabus is vast, it is difficult for you to complete all the topics at the last minute. So, it is very important to know your strengths and weaknesses. Know the topics in which you are strong and practice well to score more marks. Know the topics in which you are weak, and do not waste your time on them. Moving on to the next topic or question will help you to save time.

6. Practice Speed and Accuracy

Time management is one of the most important factors in scoring a good rank in JEE Advanced. When you read a question, you might feel that you know the answer, but it may take a lot of time to arrive at the solution. So do not spend more time on questions if you are not confident. Focus on solving the questions with speed and 100% accuracy. Do not attempt a question if you are not accurate because it will lead to negative marking.

Divide the questions into 3 types first the easy ones which require less time, second the difficult ones which require some time, and the third type for questions which require more time. Use the First In First Out (FIFO) method to solve the question paper, and you can crack the exam within the time.

7. Increase Your Confidence Level

Revising regularly gives you more confidence and is also very important for any competitive exam. Even on the day before JEE Advanced, you must revise all the important topics and solve the previous year’s papers. It will help you to clear the exam with confidence. Take time to relax, eat healthy food, read motivational books and take the JEE Advanced 2022 with a calm mind.

We hope you have got the answer to your question, i.e. Is Solving Previous Year’s Papers Enough To Get a Good Rank in JEE Advanced?
