The SBI PO application process started on December 27, 2024. The last date to apply was January 19, 2025. This article provides the best SBI PO study materials along with the exam pattern for the benefit of the candidates. The Prelims section consists of three sections, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. Read on to know more about the SBI PO syllabus.
The first stage of the SBI PO recruitment is the preliminary exam. Therefore, aspirants must work hard to pass this round with good marks to proceed to the next one, the Mains exam. The SBI PO Prelims and Mains syllabus have been given in this article below.

Every year, the State Bank of India (SBI) releases the recruitment notification for the SBI Probationary Officer post, in its portal, viz. sbi.co.in. The notification also has the syllabus of the SBI PO exam, which includes a detailed topic-wise analysis of sections based on which the question paper is devised officially.
The SBI PO syllabus is released in a single PDF for all stages, such as the Prelims exam (Stage 1), Main (Stage 2), and Interview (final round). While the Prelims include three sections, the SBI PO mains exam includes four sections. Furthermore, the time duration of both of these exams differs.

The Descriptive test is 30 minutes long and carries 50 marks. The descriptive test has two sections: Essay Writing and Letter Writing. Usually, official or business letters are asked in the test and carry 25 marks. Essay topics may be related to the economy, society, culture, banking reform, or politics. The essay writing will carry 25 marks.
SBI PO 2025 syllabus is vast, and candidates must be smart enough to cover the important topics first. Candidates who clear the main exam will be called for the personal interview round.

Ans: The syllabus for SBI PO and IBPS PO is nearly the same.
Ans: Yes, there is a negative marking. For every incorrect answer, 1/4th of the marks allocated for that question will be deducted from the total score. No marks will be deducted for the unanswered questions.
Ans: The SBI PO Descriptive test is to assess the candidate’s English Language skills. Candidates will have to write a Letter and an Essay constituting a total of 50 marks. The descriptive test is qualifying in nature.
