SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check the SSC CHSL eligibility criteria before applying for the post. Check the eligibility conditions given below:

SSC CHSL Nationality

Candidates must be either:

(a) a citizen of India
(b) a subject of Nepal,
(c) a subject of Bhutan
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before January 01, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided the candidates belonging to the (b), (c), (d) & (e) must have a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India in favour of him/her.

SSC CHSL Age Limit

The minimum age of candidates should be 18 years, and the maximum age should be 27 years. It means that candidates must have been born not before January 02, 1994, and not after January 01, 2003.

SSC CHSL Educational Qualification

  • For the post of LDC/JSA, PA/SA, and DEO (except DEOs in C&AG), the candidate must have passed the Class 12 or equivalent exam from a recognised board.
  • For the DEO (Data Entry Operator) post in the Office of Comptroller & Auditor General of India (C&AG), candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam in the science stream with mathematics as a subject.

SSC CHSL Application Form

The SSC CHSL application form is made available online on the official websites- ssc.nic.in. Online registration & filling out the application form is mandatory to appear for the exam. The application process consists of several stages: Registration, Filling in the Application Form, Uploading Documents, and Fee Payment.

How to Apply for SSC CHSL Recruitment?

The step-wise procedure to apply for SSC CHSL recruitment is as follows:

  • Go to the official website of SSC.
  • There is a login window on the right side of the screen. You need to click on ”New User? Register Now”.
  • You will be redirected to a new page, where you need to provide your basic details, contact details, photo, signature, etc., as prompted.
  • Check the details and make corrections if necessary. Then click on the ‘Save’ button. Follow the consequent steps to complete your online registration.
  • Upon submission, a Registration ID and Password will be generated.
  • Now, log in to your account, fill in the SSC CHSl Application Form, and upload the required documents as per the prescribed format.
  • Once all the fields are filled, pay the SSC CHSL application fee online (Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking) or offline (by generating Challan).

SSC CHSL Admit Card 2023

The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CHSL admit card online on the official website of the respective regions on February 26, 2023. Candidates have to log in to their accounts using the SSC CHSL registration ID and password (as generated during online registration) to download their SSC CHSL call letters. No hard copies will be sent to candidates.

SSC CHSL Tier-1 is an online exam that contains objective questions (MCQ). There are four sections in this exam which are as given below:

The time duration of the exam is 1 hour. Candidates eligible for a scribe as per the rules, will have 80 minutes to complete the exam. There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern for Tier 2

Tier 2 is conducted in English and Hindi, an offline exam conducted in pen-and-paper mode. It tests the candidate’s writing skills.

Please note that the maximum mark on the test will be 100. The time duration for the Descriptive Test (pen-and-paper exam) is 1 hour, and extra 20 minutes will be given to the eligible candidates for scribing. The minimum qualifying mark for Tier 2 is 33%. The paper can be written in Hindi or English. If a paper is written both in Hindi and English, it will not be considered and will be awarded zero marks.

Candidates must not disclose any personal identity in the answer book. Candidates who do not follow the prescribed rules will receive zero marks or be debarred from the exam.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern for Skill/Typing Test

The SSC CHSL Tier 3 will be qualifying in nature, and the marks secured in this stage will not be considered for final merit listing. The qualified candidates’ skill test/typing test will be conducted on computers provided by the Commission or its authorised agency.
