Highlights of WBJEE Important Dates 2023

WBJEE is held annually, and seat allotment has been done through e-counselling since 2012 to ensure fairness and transparency in the WBJEE seat allotment procedure. WBJEE 2023 has multiple choice questions, with 40 in Physics and Chemistry sections and 75 in Mathematics. The candidates appearing in both paper-1 and paper-2 are eligible for both General Merit Rank (GMR) and Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR). They are considered for admission to all the courses.

The application fee for candidates of the General category is INR 500. For candidates belonging to the reserved category, the fee is INR 400. WBJEE 2023 Application Dates

WBJEE 2023 Admit Card Release Date

Candidates who had successfully submitted the application form for WBJEE 2023 were issued the admit card WBJEE 2023. The hall ticket was available for download on April 20, 2023, online, at the official website of the WBJEE board. Candidates could download their admit cards with their user credentials – application number and password.

The admit card contains details related to the candidates, entrance exam and test centres, and exam day instructions. While going for the exam, candidates are advised to carry one photo identity card authorized by the Government of India, such as the Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Passport or Driving License, and admit card.

WBJEE 2023 Exam Dates

The WBJEE exam was conducted in pen-and-paper mode on April 30, 2023. Candidates were required to answer objective types of questions and mark their answers on the OMR sheets. 75 questions will be asked in Mathematics, and 40 questions each will be asked in Physics and Chemistry.

The exam is conducted for 4 hours. Paper I, or Mathematics, will be conducted in the first shift, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The second paper (Physics and Chemistry) will be conducted in the second shift, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Candidates seeking admission to Pharmacy had to appear for Biology instead of Mathematics in Paper 1. Please note that the candidates must qualify for both papers to get admission.

WBJEE 2023 Answer Key Date

The officials released the provisional WBJEE answer key 2023 on the official website. The authorities will also release the response sheet. Candidates can go through the answers mentioned in the answer key and cross-check with the answers they had marked in their OMR sheet. If they think an answer provided in the provisional key is incorrect, they can challenge it.

However, candidates must provide the supporting documents in favour of the proposed answer and pay a non-refundable fee of INR 500/- plus bank charges for each answer they challenge. Without supporting documents, the authorities do not grant the objection. The authorities decide on the final answer, which will be published in the final answer key.

WBJEE 2023 Result Date

WBJEEB declared the WBJEE 2023 results on May 26, 2023. Candidates must sign in to their profile to check the WBJEE result just like they analysed their answer keys on the portal. To log in to their account, they need to enter their application number, password and security ID.

The result was released as a rank card with the score of Paper I and II, the total score and the candidate’s rank. The officials release the cutoff along with the result. Candidates scoring higher than the qualifying cutoff become eligible to participate in counselling. Candidates are required to bring their WBJEE scorecard at the time of WBJEE counselling.

WBJEE 2023 Counselling Dates

All the selected candidates for WBJEE counselling must register online by submitting the required information. The identity code and password of the participants are created. Once they successfully register for the counselling process, they can select the course and college of their choice and lock their preferences before the prescribed date.

Participants should keep a copy of the locked options with them for future reference. They are allotted seats in the institute as per the availability in the order of merit.
