Exam Brief

The official notification for the Indian Army Recruitment Agniveer (Technical) 2022-23 was released by the Indian Army on June 20, 2022. Beginning in July, candidates can submit their online applications for the Agniveer (Technical) Recruitment. Online registration is the first and required step for all applicants wanting to become Agniveers. Visit the official Indian Army website, which is listed in the article below, if a candidate wants to download the notification and obtain all the information regarding the Agniveer recruitment.

The hired Agniveers (Technical) will be released from their employment after four years, according to the official notification. Agniveers (Technical) will receive the "Seva Nidhi" payment following the completion of the required four years. This is being done with the intention of allowing the Agniveers to pursue any employment in other fields in their civilian lives. After serving the required 4-years, about 25% of the recruited Agniveers will be qualified to apply as regular Army personnel.

Selection Process

Candidates must go through the process listed below for their selection into the Indian Army as Agniveers (Technical) –

Physical Measurement (At Rally Site)   
Physical measurements will be done as per the established physical standards.
Medical Test
Will be conducted as per the medical guidelines established at the rally's location.
Those who are unfit will be sent to a military hospital (MH) for a professional evaluation.
Within five days of the referral date, candidates must report to the designated MH, and the MH has fourteen days to complete the review medical exam.
Written Test through Common Entrance Examination (CEE)  
For candidates who are in good health, CEE is held at the designated location.
At the rally site and later via admit cards, the CEE date, time, and location will be announced.
The rally site itself will be where the CEE admit card is distributed.
After receiving a medically fit certificate from the concerned specialist at the MH, the CEE admit card for the review of medically fit candidates will be issued.

Exam pattern details - Scoring pattern (+/- Marking)

In the Indian Army Agniveer (Technical) CEE, each correct response will be given 2 marks (depending on the role applied for), whereas each incorrect response will result in a loss of 14 of the marks allotted or 0.5 marks. There aren't any adjustments made for unanswered questions, though.

Application Form Filling - Start & End Date

The Indian Army Agniveer (Technical) applications for candidates are open from July 3 to August 3, 2022.

Candidates will receive their admit cards for the Indian Army Agniveer (Technical) rally one week before the rally date. Candidates who have not received their admit card four days before the rally may contact the Army Recruiting Office (ARO) for clarification.

Result Date

The Indian Army Agniveer (Technical) CEE results will be published on the official website. There will be no separate letters couriered or emailed to the candidates. The candidate must check their results as soon as possible and report back to ARO for documentation.

Step 5: Pay the fees, if any.

Documents Required during Application

We have provided the list of important documents required at the time of application. 

  • Matric Certificate - The following details will be filled strictly as per matric certificate
    1. Candidate Name
    2. Father Name
    3. Mother Name
    4. Date of Birth
    5. Matric Certificate number as issued by Education Board
  • Scanned passport size photo of the candidate of size between 10 to 20 Kb in .jpg format.
  • Valid e-mail address - Candidates are required to have a personal e-mail id which will also be their user id on registration. All correspondence will be sent to the e-mail id, such as shortlisting, call-ups, joining instructions and results.
  • Mobile Number - Candidates are required to have a mobile number. Sharing mobile numbers between candidates is not permitted. OTP and other messages will be sent to the registered mobile number.
  • Scanned photo of the candidate’s signature of size between 5 to 10 Kb in .jpg format. 
  • Detailed mark sheet of Class 10 and other higher qualifications is required to be filled in the online application form according to the eligibility criteria of the category/entry the candidate is applying for.
  • Details about your State, District and Tahsil/Block of Domicile (Only for JCO/OR Enrolment Application).

Documents Required at the Rally Site

Candidates must bring the following documents/certificates in original with two attested photocopies to the rally site:-

  • Admit Card: Admit card printed in good quality. Do not shrink the size.
  • Photograph: Twenty (20) copies of unattested Passport size colour photographs in white background not more than three months old from the date of application. Computerised/photoshopped photographs will NOT be accepted. Photographs must be with a proper haircut and clean shave (except for Sikh Candidates).
  • Education Certificates:
  1. Education certificate with mark sheet of all educational qualifications completed by the candidate, i.e. Matric/intermediate from recognised school/college/board/university. 
  2. Provisional/online education certificate should be ink signed by the head of the educational institution of the concerned board/university.
  3. Candidates with matric certificate from Open School (NIOS) should bring School Leaving Certificate countersigned by BEO/DEO.
  4. The list of Education Board recognised by State Governments/UT administrations will only be accepted.
  • Domicile Certificate: Domicile Certificate with photographissuedby Tahsildar/District Magistrate.
  • Caste Certificate: Caste Certificate affixed with the photograph of the candidates issued by the Tahsildar/District Magistrate.
  • Religion Certificate: If the religion of the candidate (Sikh/Hindu/Muslim/Christian) is not mentioned in the caste certificate religion certificate is to be issued by the Tahsildar/SOM.
  • School Character Certificate: School character certificate issued by the School/College Principal/Headmaster where the candidate last studied.
  • Character Certificate: Character Certificate with photograph issued by Village Sarpanch/Municipal Corporation within the last six months.
  • Unmarried Certificate: Unmarried Certificate with a photograph for all candidates to be obtained issued by Village Sarpanch/Municipal Corporation within the last six months.
  • Relationship Certificate: SOS/SOEX/SOW/SOVWV Candidates are required to produce the following documents:-
  1. Relationship certificate issued by the respective Record Office and duly signed by the Record Officer along with personal number, rank, name and particular of the Record Officer issuing the relationship certificate with their office seal/stamp endorsed. The relationship certificate should bear the watermarks of the concerned Record Offices.
  2. A declaration to the effect as mentioned in Affidavit on a ten Rupees non­-judicial stamp paper prepared by the ESM duly signed by 1st Class/Executive/Judicial Magistrate is required to be submitted by the candidate at the stipulated rally site. The format of the affidavit is attached as per Appendix 'B' of the official notification.
  • Original Discharge Book of Ex-Servicemen also to be produced. The candidate's name and date of birth must be recorded on it.
  • NCC Certificate: NCC A/B/C Certificate and Republic Day Parade certificate should have the photograph of the candidate duly attested by the issuing authority. The provisional NCC A/B/C pass certificates will only be accepted if concerned NCC Group Commanders authenticate. No bonus marks are to be allotted unless the certificate (Relationship/Sports/NCC) has been verified. An undertaking to the effect will be obtained from the candidate. Provisional certificates are accepted only during the notified rally duration, neither earlier nor later.
  • Sports Certificate:
  1. Sportsmen who have represented India at the International level and a State at the National level in the last two years (for a list of sports under which relaxation in physical standards is admissible, check the official website).
  2. Sportsmen who have represented their District at the State level and a University team or regional team at the District level in the last two years (sports certificate must include a registration number and must be from a government recognised sports institute/body).

  • List of Sports: The list of sports for enrolment can be verified in Appendix 'C' of the official notification.
  • Affidavit: The candidate's signature on Rs. 10/- non-judicial stamp paper, duly attested by the notary, must be submitted at the rally site without fail. The affidavit format can be found in Appendix 'D' of the official notification. The affidavit must be submitted in order to enter the rally site.
  • Certificate of Bonus Marks: All original certificates and duly attested photocopies pertaining to bonus marks will be accepted only during the rally and not after the termination of the rally.
  • Single Bank A/C, PAN Card & AADHAR Card: A single bank account number, a PAN card, and an Aadhar card are required for final enrollment in the (salary) pay and allowances scheme and the social benefits scheme.

Candidates will be screened in the following categories based on qualitative requirements. Candidates for the Indian Army Agniveer (Technical) must be between the ages of 17 and 21.5.

For the recruitment year 2022-2023, the age group has been increased to 23 years as a one-time relaxation.

Note: Eligible candidates can be granted the prescribed relaxations in all three measurements, i.e. height, chest and weight.

Medical Standards

  • Candidates must be physically fit and mentally healthy.
  • The chest should be well developed, with a minimum expansion of 5 cm.
  • The candidate must have normal hearing in both ears and good binocular vision in both eyes.
  • Candidates must be able to read 6/6 on the distance vision chart separately with each eye.
  • Candidates must have at least 14 dental points and a sufficient number of natural healthy gums and teeth.
  • Candidates must not have diseases such as bone deformity, hydrocele, varicocele, or piles.
  • Candidates must be able to identify the colours red and green. Colour vision should be CP-III or higher.

Q1. Can I apply without an Aadhar number?
Ans: Yes. You can apply without having an Aadhar card. But ensure that you apply and obtain one at the earliest possible and update the required details in your application form. This will later be used to confirm your biometrics during recruitment.

Q2. If I reach the rally location one day before the stipulated date, will I be able to stay at the site?
Ans: No. You will not be allowed to enter the site earlier than the said date and time. If you arrive early, you need to arrange your accommodation.

Q3. What are the boarding and lodging charges at the selection centre?
Ans: The boarding and lodging at the selection centre are absolutely free of cost for you.

Q4. Can I submit more than one application for the same post?
Ans: Submitting more than one application for the same role may lead to the cancellation of the application itself.

Q5. My parents/friends/siblings are accompanying me to the selection centre. What are the options available for their stay?
Ans: Accommodation is not catered to anyone other than the candidates as they will not be permitted to enter the selection centre.

Dos

Before Rally

  • Start preparation 2-3 months before the rally for a 1.6 km run and other included physical tests.
  • Get and prepare the necessary documents as required.
  • Get your doubts and queries clarified from your nearest Recruitment Office.
  • Get any minor ailments treated so as to avoid getting rejected.
  • Read and understand the eligibility requirements and apply for the most suitable category.
  • Identify and rectify any anomalies in your documents and ID proofs before the rally date.

At Rally

  • Report at 3 am on the day of the rally. The gates close at 930 am every day.
  • Candidates found engaging in any unfair means will be disqualified, and action will be taken. 
  • FIR will be booked against candidates using unfair means at any stage of the recruitment.
  • Once entered, candidates will not be allowed to exit the rally site. Hence, carry water and snacks as required throughout the day.
  • Candidates must come duly shaved with crew haircuts, except for Sikh candidates.
  • Carry your vaccination certificate and practice COVID-appropriate guidelines.

After Rally

  • If found unfit, report on time and get a medical review done (Permanent Unfit Cases have 21 days, and Temporary Unfit Cases get 42 days).
  • Study the syllabus and prepare well for the Common Entrance Exam (CEE ).
  • On the day of the results, check your results personally through IVRS or the ARO.
  • Once selected, submit the relevant documents and report to training centres for dispatch on the stipulated date.

Dont's

Before Rally

  • Do not carry incorrect or fake documents to the rally.
  • Do not approach anybody (tout) other than Recruitment Office staff for any clarification regarding the recruitment process or results.
  • Do not come to the rally with any major ailments, injuries, or recently operated wounds that have not yet healed.
  • Do not pay attention to anyone claiming to help you get recruited into the Indian Army.

During Rally

  • Do not engage with any strangers or touts. Recruitment into the Indian Army is purely transparent.
  • Do not participate on the date not allotted for your district and trade.
  • Do not carry mobile phone handsets or other costly personal belongings to the rally site.
  • Do not get into a fight or argue with fellow candidates and the recruitment staff.
  • Do not litter the rally site both inside and outside.
  • Do not engage in activities that cause damage to public/private properties at the premises.
  • Do not misbehave or encourage to misbehave with other candidates, the public and women in particular.

After Rally

  • Do not travel over a bus or train while heading to or leaving the rally location/site.
  • Do not be late for the medical review at the nominated Military Hospital (MH).
  • Do not be late for the CEE or absent from the result declaration. Results will not be disclosed to anyone on your behalf.
  • Do not be late or absent for dispatch to the Training Centre.

Salary Structure

Agniveer Salary for 1st Year

The salary for the Agniveer candidates selected in the 1st batch in the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy would be Rs. 30,000 per month salary package out of which Rs. 9,000 will be deducted as a contribution to Seva Nidhi Package (Agniveer Corpus Fund). Agniveers are not entitled to gratuity.

Agniveer Salary for 3rd Year

Agniveer Salary for 4th Year

The salary for the Agniveer candidates selected in the 1st batch in the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy would be Rs. 40,000 per month salary package out of which Rs. 12,000 will be deducted as a contribution to Seva Nidhi Package.

Pay, Allowances and Allied Benefits.

  • Agniveer Package: The pay & emoluments of Agniveers will be as given below:- 
    1. Year 1: Rs. 30,000/- (plus applicable allowances)
    2. Year 2: Rs. 33,000/- (plus applicable allowances)
    3. Year 3: Rs. 36,500/- (plus applicable allowances)
    4. Year 4: Rs. 40,000/- (plus applicable allowances)
  • 30% of the above-mentioned will be mandatorily deposited monthly in a corpus that the GOI will match. Balance amount less the corpus contribution will be the in-hand component.
  • Seva Nidhi Package: On discharge after 4 years of service, the amount of Rs. 5.02 lakhs will be matched by the Government of India, and a total of Rs. 10.04 lakhs along with any accrued interest will be paid to the Agniveers soldiers. The Seva Nidhi is exempted from Income Tax.
    1. In the case of Agniveers who are subsequently selected for enrolment in the Indian Army as a regular cadre, the Seva Nidhi package will comprise only the individual’s contribution with the accrued interest.
    2. In the case of Agniveers quitting service before the end of the engagement period, the individual's Seva Nidhi package will be paid with the applicable interest. In such cases, there will be no government contribution.
  • Payment Modality - Seva Nidhi Package: There are two options to receive the Seva Nidhi, with an aim to provide loans for self-employment/ entrepreneurship through a bank Guarantee as also to meet immediate/ incidental expenses on exit. Firm details will be promulgated separately.
  • Allowances: The Agniveer pay is a composite salary package and is not eligible for any Dearness Allowance or Military Service Pay. Agniveers will get Risk & Hardship, Ration, Dress and Travel allowances from time to time.
  • Agniveers are exempted from making any contribution to the Armed Forces Personnel Provident Fund or other Provident Fund.
  • There will be no entitlement of gratuity or pensionary benefits for Agniveers enrolled through the Agneepath scheme.

Life Insurance Cover

Agniveers receive non-contributory life insurance coverage of Rs. 48 lakhs for the duration of their engagement. They do not qualify for Army Group Insurance Fund (AGIF) schemes or benefits.

Availing of Leave

Grant of leave is subject to exigencies of the service. The below-listed leaves may be applicable for Agniveers during their engagement.
