NDA Notification 2025: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) issued the NDA 1 notification 2025 on December 11, 2024. The online application submission for NDA I was started on December 11, 2024, and continues until December 31, 2025. Candidates are allowed to apply online for UPSC NDA I 2025 on the official website, i.e., upsc.gov.in. The NDA 1 exam will be conducted on April 13, 2025, and NDA 2 will be conducted on September 14, 2025.

Applicants interested in this exam must fill out the application form from December 20 to January 9, 2025. The selection will be done through a written examination and SSB interview. This article provides all the important details about the UPSC NDA 1 and 2 exams. To know more, read this article.

NDA & NA Latest Update:
— The UPSC NDA 2025 exam will be conducted on April 13, 2025, and September 14, 2025, for NDA 1 and NDA 2 respectively and the admit card will be released soon on the official website. 
— NDA 2 2025 Notification will be released on May 28, 2025.

NDA Exam Notification 2025

Presently, there is an official NDA 2025 notification PDF released on December 11, 2024. Since UPSC announced the NDA 1 2025 exam notice, we have updated the same in this article.

According to the NDA 2025 notification, there is a total of 406 vacancies in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Naval Academy. UPSC NDA will be conducted for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA and Indian Naval Academy Courses (INAC).

Old Vacancies: Earlier, UPSC released the UPSC NDA 1 2025 notification PDF on December 11, 2025, at upsc.gov.in, declaring 406 vacant positions for boys and girls to be hired for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy for the year 2025.

UPSC Previous Year Vacancies

Earlier, UPSC released a total of 406 vacancies to be recruited from the NDA 1 2025 exam. Of the total openings, 370 belong to the NDA and 36 to the NA. The detailed breakdown of vacancies is given in the below table:

• 8th Step: Scroll down to the “Subjects” section.
• 9th Step: Click on any NDA & NA subjects.
• 10th Step: Scroll down to click on the chapters from the selected subject to begin the practice.

NDA Salary 2025

The NDA salary is INR 56,100 for the entire duration of training in service academies. Following successful training, the Officer Commissioned’s salary will be fixed in the first Cell of Level 10.

UPSC NDA Eligibility 2025

To be eligible for the exam, candidates must meet the following NDA 2025 eligibility criteria:

• Nationality: The candidate should be an Indian or a citizen of Bhutan/Nepal or a Tibetan refugee or have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam.
• Age Limit, Gender, and Marital Status: Both male and female candidates for the NDA 1 exam must have been born between July 2, 2004, and July 1, 2007.
• Educational Qualification: Different academies have different educational requirements. Candidates can see the educational criteria in the table below.

• The candidates should be physically fit.

How to Apply Online for NDA 2025 Recruitment?

The online application form for the UPSC NDA 1 2025 exam will be provided on December 20, 2024. However, the NDA 1 registration will be active from December 20, 2024. Candidates must follow the stepwise procedure to apply for this exam:

• 1st Step: Go to the official website of UPSC: upsconline.nic.in. Note that the link might show that the connection is not secure for mobile users. So, go to “Advanced” and click on “Proceed to upsconline.nic.in”.
• 2nd Step: Click on “Online Application for Various Examinations of UPSC” and then on the relevant link to apply for NDA 2025 Exam.
• 3rd Step: A new page will appear where candidates must fill in Part-I and Part-II to complete the application procedure.
• 4th Step: In Part I, candidates must enter their personal details and other information to register themselves. Upon successful registration, a registration ID will be generated. This registration ID will be required to complete Part II of the NDA Application Form.
• 5th Step: In Part II, candidates must enter their payment details and preferred examination centre and upload a photograph, signature, document, and photo identity.
• 6th Step: Agree to the terms and conditions.
• 7th Step: Click on the Submit NDA Application form.

NDA 2025 Application Fee

As per the official notification, the application fee for the UPSC NDA 2025 exam is in the table below. The fee can be paid in both offline and online modes.

• Offline Mode: Candidates are required to submit a pay-in slip to any branch of SBI.
• Online Mode: Candidates have to pay using a debit/ credit card or internet banking.

NDA 2025 Selection Process

There are two stages in the NDA selection process, i.e. written test and SSB interview. Candidates must clear the written examination to move to the second stage, i.e. SSB interview. After the SSB interview, document verification and medical examination will be conducted. Candidates will be asked to report for the medical examination based on the final merit list.

After selection, candidates must undergo training and, upon successful completion of training, will serve as an Indian Army/ Navy/ Air Force Officer.

NDA 2025 Exam Pattern

The NDA 1 Exam 2025 will have only objective-type questions. The questions will be asked in English as well as Hindi. Check the detailed pattern from the below table:

NDA Marking Scheme

The NDA Exam has negative markings. One-third of the marks allotted to a question will be reduced on every wrong attempt.

NDA 2025 Syllabus

Candidates appearing for the NDA 1 2025 exam must prepare for Mathematics, General Knowledge and English Subjects:

• Mathematics: Integral calculus and Differential Equations, Matrices & Determinants, Algebra, Analytical Geometry of two and three Dimensions, Statistics and Probability, Trigonometry, Differential Calculus, Vector Algebra, etc.
• English: The candidate will be assessed based on the understanding of English and workman, like the use of words. This syllabus will cover Grammar and Usage, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Antonyms and Synonyms.
• General Knowledge: The question paper on General Knowledge will cover subjects like Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography and Current Events.

NDA 1 SSB Interview 2025

The SSB Interview comprises various psychological and intelligence tests, which will be conducted for 5 days. Candidates who pass the written exam must participate in a two-stage interview process administered by officials. Those who advance to the interview round must provide birth and pass certificates.

NDA Exam 2025 Admit Card

The NDA 1 admit card 2025 will be released on March 24, 2025(Tentative), while the NDA II admit card is yet to be issued. The candidates can download the hall ticket from the official website of UPSC. The hall ticket can be downloaded by logging in with the roll number or registration number. The candidates will not get any hard copy of their hall ticket via post.

NDA Exam 2025 Result

The written and final results are released online in two stages. A merit list for both stages has been released on the day of the NDA result. The results have been made available on the official website of the UPSC. It will comprise both the roll number and the names of the selected candidates. Candidates whose names will be present in the NDA result PDF are required to appear for the SSB Interview. 

NDA 2025 Cut-off

The NDA cut-off is the minimum qualifying mark applicants must achieve to pass the exam and advance to the next selection round. Following the completion of the hiring procedure, the cut-off marks for the written exam and SSB interview will be released separately. Candidates have to score at least 25% marks in each subject.
