JEE Main Exam: An entrance test, for those who wish to get into B.E, B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning courses. Aspirants who continue with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) disciplines in class 11 and 12 can opt for JEE Main Exam. Those who can crack JEE Main will get admission into NIT’s, IIT’s, IIT’s, Govt. funded engineering and technology institutes.
JEE Main exam has two papers i.e paper-1 and paper-2. Aspirants may opt for either or both papers and it contain MCQs (multiple choice questions). Paper 1 is for admission to B.E./B.Tech courses and conducted in both online and offline modes. Paper-2 is for admission in B.Arch and B.Planning courses which is conducted offline only.
JEE Main Paper 1 is of three hours duration and consists of 30 MCQs in each subject Physics, Chemistry and Maths. There is negative marking policy for incorrect answers (Not for Unattempted). For each and every correct answers 4 marks are awarded and 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answers (Not for Unattempted).
CBSE will conduct JEE Main 2017. Paper & Pen based exam on April 2, 2017, while the Computer Based Test (CBT) will be held on April 8 and April 9, 2017.

1. Advantages of JEE Main Online Exam:
In JEE Main online exam, you will be assigned a computer in the test centre. You’ll be able to mark your answer by simply clicking on the bubble. Also, you’ll be able to move betweens sections and questions. There will also be a question palette, which will indicate the unattempted questions or marked for review.
Questions can be marked for review and answers can be changed at any point of time: You can move between Q’s by clicking a button. So that you can change the answers even after marking one. Answering the Q’s would be full proof as there is no way you can mistakenly mark an answer. Also, if you get time after answering all the Q’s, you can recheck and change the answer again.

2. Disadvantages of JEE Main Online Exam:
Lack of confidence: This could stem from the fact that for the past two years they have utilized pen and paper during their exams. Either the foundation exams like Olympiad and NTSE also have the same offline exam pattern of marking answers in an OMR Sheet. So, the aspirant often feel less confident on going ahead with online.
Experiencing wrong figures on the screen: Most of the questions for all the subjects involve calculations. In this case you will be provided a rough sheet during the online exam. While solving the calculation based questions, there is a chance to encounter with wrong figure or diagram on the computer screen. This problem is also possible in the offline exams, but the chances of this occurring in online exam are higher.
Summary of demerits for online exam:
You might experience technical issues, noting down incorrect figures or diagrams while calculating a question and you might not be familiar with online pattern.
