How to Calculate AFCAT Scores?

The officials calculate the score based on the AFCAT Answer Key. The response sheet of the candidates is compared against the answer key, and the number of correct and incorrect attempts are calculated. What After AFCAT Result?

After the release of the AFCAT scorecard, candidates need to appear for the AFSB Interview. Check the following points:

  • Indian Air Force will shortlist the candidates based on the marks in the written exam.
  • Qualified candidates will be called for AFSB Interview.
  • AFSB Interview will be conducted at five centres, i.e., Dehradun, Mysuru, Gandhinagar, Varanasi, and Guwahati.
  • Candidates opting for the flying branch can only choose Dehradun, Mysore, and Varanasi as AFSB centres.
  • Candidates need to choose the AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) date and venue in online mode as per the schedule.
  • Those candidates who do not make their choices of AFSB Centre and Date will be allocated an exam date and venue automatically by the system.
  • After choosing the exam date, venue, and other required details, a call letter will be available for download.
  • The Interview will majorly consist of three stages such as Officer Intelligence Rating Test, Psychological Tests, and Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS).
  • Candidates also need to pass the Medical Test to be eligible for final selection.

AFSB Testing

The testing at Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) consists of three stages as given below:

Stage-I

  • Officer Intelligence Rating Test along with Picture Perception and discussion test will be conducted on the first day.
  • Stage-I test is a screening test and only those who qualify would undergo subsequent testing.
  • All Stage-I qualified candidates would be subjected to document check to ascertain their eligibility for the branches applied for.
  • Candidates who either do not qualify in Stage-I or do not meet the required eligibility criteria would be sent back on the first day itself.

Stage-II

  • A psychological test will be conducted on Day 1 (Afternoon), and the group tests and interviews will commence after document check for the next five days.

For Flying Branch

  • Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) would be administered to recommended candidates only. This is once in a lifetime test.
  • Candidates who have failed the CPSS/ PABT in an earlier attempt or a Flight Cadet suspended from flying training at Air Force Academy will not be eligible.
