CSIR UGC-NET 2020: National Testing Agency Conducts the CSIR UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) to select candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship/ Assistant Professorship. The exam conducted in Computer Based Mode for five papers namely, Life science, Earth science, Mathematical science, Chemical science, and Physical science papers.

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the CSIR NET June 2020 exam has been postponed. The online applications have been extended to May 15. Revised exam schedule will be announced after April 15.

CSIR UGC NET 2020 Eligibility
Before filling the CSIR NET Application form, candidates will have to go through the CSIR NET eligibility criteria to make sure of one’s eligibility. If the candidates do not meet the eligibility criteria, his/ her candidature will be cancelled.
Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian national.
Age Limit: The upper age limit as on 01.01.2020 is tabulated below.

The essential education qualification is as follows:
- M.Sc. or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B. Tech/B. Pharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates.
- Candidates enrolled for M.Sc or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination (Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B. Tech/B. Pharma/MBBS) as on the closing date of online submission of Application Form can also apply.
— In such case, candidates will have to apply under the Result Awaited (RA) category on the condition that he/ she will complete the qualifying degree with requisite percentage of marks within the validity period of two years to avail the fellowship.
— Also, such candidates need to submit the attestation form duly certified by the Head of the Department/ Institute from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared
- B.Sc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program with at least 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates; 50% marks for SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates are also eligible to apply.
However, candidates having Bachelor’s degree will be eligible for CSIR fellowship only after getting registered/enrolled for Ph.D/Integrated Ph.D program within the validity period of two years. Also, such candidates, will only be eligible for JRF and not for Lectureship.
How To Apply For CSIR NET 2020?
The steps to apply for CSIR NET 2020 is as follows:
1st Step: Visit the official website – csirnet.nta.nic.in
2nd Step: Now click on the button – ‘Fill Online Application Form Joint CSIR- UGC NET June 2020’ present on the home page.
3rd Step: Then click on the button ‘New Registration’. An instruction page will appear. Read it, scroll down and check the box provided below.
4th Step: Click on the button ‘Click here to Proceed‘. Then enter your name, date of birth, mobile number, email id and other basic details. Click on ‘Submit’.
5th Step: Application Number and Password will be generated. Log in and continue with filling the application form by filling all the required details.
6th Step: Upload scanned copies of Photograph, Signature & other documents in the prescribed format.
7th Step: Recheck all the details and proceed to pay the ‘Application Fee’. Save a copy of the fee receipt after the successful payment.
8th Step: Take a printout of the filled application form for future reference

CSIR NET 2020 Syllabus

CSIR NET 2020 Exam Pattern
The CSIR NEt exam scheme consists of three parts namely, Part – A, Part – B, Part – C. The examination is conducted for all five papers and the Part A is common for all the papers. Whereas, Part B & C will have the questions asked specific to each paper.

CSIR NET Admit Card 2020
NTA will release the CSIR NET Admit Card on May 15, 2020. All the candidates who successfully apply for CSIr NET 2020 June session will be able to download the CSIR NET admit card. It is compulsory to carry the CSIR NET Hall Ticket along with a valid photo ID proof. No candidate will be allowed to take the test without a valid admit card.

CSIR NET Answer Key 2020
The CSIR NET Answer Key will be released a few days after the CSIR NET examination. NTA will first release a provisional answer key and will invite applications challenging the answer key. If candidates have any representations, they can challenge the answer key and pay the prescribed fee. The answer key can be challenged as per the schedule released by NTA and candidates will have to abide by it. After processing all the challenges, the CSIR NET Final Answer Key will be released.
CSIR NET Result 2020
The CSIR NET Result will be released on July 5, 2020. Candidates can check their result & Scorecard from the official website by entering the ‘Roll Number’ and ‘Date of Birth’. The CSIR NET result can be released as a merit list PDF. Besides that, the candidates can also check the scorecard which consists of the overall and subject-wise marks mentioned on it.
CSIR NET 2020 Cutoff
