CSIR NET Notification 2021 Eligibility
Before filling the CSIR NET Application form, candidates will have to go through the CSIR NET eligibility criteria to make sure that the application process is successfully completed. If the candidates failing to meet the eligibility criteria, their candidature will be rejected by the authority. So, candidates should carefully read the eligibility criteria given below:
Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian.
Age Limit: The upper age limit is tabulated below.

The essential education qualification is as follows:
- M.Sc. or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B. Tech/B. Pharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates.
- Candidates enrolled for M.Sc or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination (Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B. Tech/B. Pharma/MBBS) as on the closing date of online submission of Application Form can also apply.
— In such case, candidates will have to apply under the Result Awaited (RA) category on the condition that he/ she will complete the qualifying degree with requisite percentage of marks within the validity period of two years to avail the fellowship.
— Also, such candidates need to submit the attestation form duly certified by the Head of the Department/ Institute from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared
- B.Sc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program with at least 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates; 50% marks for SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates are also eligible to apply.
However, candidates having Bachelor’s degree will be eligible for CSIR fellowship only after getting registered/enrolled for Ph.D/Integrated Ph.D program within the validity period of two years. Also, such candidates, will only be eligible for JRF and not for Lectureship.
How To Apply For CSIR NET 2021?
In order to avoid any kind of inconvenience or last minutes rush, candidates are advised to submit the application form before the last date. If not, NTA will not be responsible for errors during the last day of filling the application form. Candidates can check the stepwise process to apply for CSIR NET 2021 are given below:
1st Step: Visit the official website – csirnet.nta.nic.in
2nd Step: Now click on the button – ‘Fill Online Application Form Joint CSIR- UGC NET ’ present on the home page.
3rd Step: Then click on the button ‘New Registration’. An instruction page will appear. Read it, scroll down and check the box provided below.
4th Step: Click on the button ‘Click here to Proceed‘. Then enter your name, date of birth, mobile number, email id and other basic details. Click on ‘Submit’.
5th Step: Application Number and Password will be generated. Log in and continue with filling the application form by filling all the required details.
6th Step: Upload scanned copies of Photograph, Signature & other documents in the prescribed format.
7th Step: Recheck all the details and proceed to pay the ‘Application Fee’. Save a copy of the fee receipt after the successful payment.
8th Step: Take a printout of the filled application form for future reference

Candidates can pay application fee in online mode via Credit/ Debit Card/ Net banking/ UPI and Paytm. The Application fee is non-refundable and the details are tabulated below:

The CSIR NET Exam Syllabus varies for each paper. However, the Part- A syllabus of each paper is common to all five papers. Whereas the syllabus under the Part B & C section is different for Chemical, Earth, Life, Mathematics & Physical Sciences. Check the table below for more details.
|Part A||There will be 20 Questions asked pertaining to General Aptitude. The candidates are required to answer any 15 questions carrying two marks each The total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200|
|Part B||Multiple Choice Questions will be asked as per the core syllabus of each paper. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 70 out of 200. The maximum number of questions to be attempted shall be in the range of 20-35.|
|Part C||Advanced level questions will be asked a candidate’s knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts.The total marks allocated to this section shall be 100 out of 200.|
- The questions paper is objective types with each paper carrying maximum of 200 marks.
- The time duration of the exam is 3 hours
- The question paper is divided into three parts namely; Part A, Part B and Part C.
- The medium of exam will be in English and Hindi.
- There is negative marking for each subject. Marks will deducted for every wrong answer.

CSIR NET Admit Card 2021
NTA will release the CSIR NET Admit Card a few days before the exam date. All the candidates who successfully applied for the CSIR NET exam will be able to download the CSIR NET admit card. It is compulsory to carry the CSIR NET Hall Ticket along with a valid photo ID proof on the day of the exam. No candidate will be allowed to take the test without a valid admit card.

CSIR NET Answer Key 2021
The CSIR NET Answer Key will be released a few days after the completion of the examination. NTA will first release a provisional answer key and will invite applications challenging the answer key. If candidates have any objections, they can challenge the answer key by paying the fee prescribed by the NTA. The answer key can be challenged as per the schedule released by NTA and candidates will have to abide by it. After scrutinizing the objection raised by the candidates, NTA will release final CSIR NET Answer Key on the official website.
CSIR NET Result 2021
The CSIR NET Result will be released after the completion of exam. Candidates can check their result and Scorecard from the official website by entering the ‘Roll Number’ and ‘Date of Birth’.
