Age Criteria

The JEE Main 2025 does not have an upper age limit. However, candidates may be required to meet the age requirements of the institutes to which they wish to apply.

Nationality

Candidates must be Indian citizens to take the JEE Main exam. Candidates who are NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, and foreign nationals are also eligible to apply for the JEE Main exam in 2025.

Education Qualification

Candidates must have a minimum of 50% in Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board or university. Candidates who have already passed or are about to take their Class 12 exams are eligible to apply for JEE Main. Candidates must have a background in Mathematics or have taken Mathematics as a compulsory subject in their 10+2 level to take the JEE Main 2024 B.Arch test.

Other equivalent qualifications are listed below:

• The 10+2 academic system’s final exam is administered by the authorised Central or State Board of Education.
• A recognised Board/University conducts an intermediate or two-year Pre-University exam.
• The Joint Services Wing (JSW) of the NDA offers a two-year education (National Defence Academy).
• SSSE exam with a minimum of 5 topics administered by NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling).
• Exam for the Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational.
• AIU recognises any public board/school/university exam in India or any other country as equivalent to the 10+2 system (Association of Indian Universities).
• A Diploma accredited by AICTE or any State Board of Technical Education (Minimum 3 years) (Minimum 3 years).
• Advanced (A) level GCE (General Certificate Education) Exam (Cambridge/ London/ Sri Lanka).

Number of Attempts

According to NTA, candidates can appear in JEE Main 2025 twice. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria for JEE Paper 2A (B.Arch) can apply for the examination. 

The JEE Main Paper 2A application form 2025 for the Session 2 was released on the official website. The application form submission started on February 1 and continued till 25, 2025. A separate application form is available for the various sections, such as B.E/B.
