1. Knowing the JEE Main Syllabus

Paper 1 For B.E./ B.Tech. Candidates –

Total: 90 Questions

  • Mathematics: 20 MCQs, and 10 Questions with answers as a numerical value. Out of 10 numerical value questions, only 5 questions have to be attempted. Thus, making it a total of 25 questions per section.
  • Physics: 20 MCQs, and 10 Questions with answers as a numerical value. Out of 10 numerical value questions, only 5 questions have to be attempted. Thus, making it a total of 25 questions per section.
  • Chemistry: 20 MCQs, and 10 Questions with answers as a numerical value. Out of 10 numerical value questions, only 5 questions have to be attempted. Thus, making it a total of 25 questions per section.

Paper 2A For B. Arch Candidates –

In B. Arch, there are three sections, Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing Test.
There are 82 questions – 20 MCQs from Mathematics, 10 numerical value questions out of which candidates have to answer 5 questions, 50 MCQs from the Aptitude test, and 2 questions will be asked in the Drawing test.

Paper 2B For B. Planning Candidates –

B. Planning question paper comprises 105 questions, wherein 20 MCQs are from Mathematics + 10 numerical value questions out of which candidates have to answer 5 questions, 50 MCQs from Aptitude test, and 25 MCQs from Planning.

Note: In B.Arch Paper and B.Planning Paper only 5 numerical value questions have to be attempted out of 10. No negative marking for numerical value questions.

Q.1: Has NTA rescheduled JEE Main 2022 again?
Ans: JEE Main Session 1 was conducted from June 23 to 29, 2022. JEE Main July Session will commence from July 25, 2022, onwards.

Q.2: Can I edit the JEE Main 2022 application form?
Ans: Yes, NTA has now allowed the editing of JEE Main 2022 application form (session 1). The correction window became active on April 6, 2022, and the last date to edit/modify the application form was April 8, 2022, up to 9:00 p.m.

Q.3: Has NTA reopened the application submission for JEE Main 2022?
Ans: NTA reopened the submission of JEE Main session 2 application form, and the last date to apply online for JEE Main (Session 2) was July 12, 2022.

Q.4: What is the point of NTA in conducting multiple sessions for JEE Main?
Ans: There are many advantages to conducting JEE Main twice a year, such as giving students multiple opportunities to improve their scores if they fail to do so on the first attempt. When taking the test for the first time, many aspirants will go through a first-time experience that they can use for the next one if they cannot make it in session 1.

Q.5: Why did NTA not release the JEE Main notification for the February session?
Ans: NTA did not release any notification for JEE Main Feb session because the decision for four attempts of JEE was withdrawn; however, NTA started the online registrations for JEE Main session 1 on March 1, 2022, and the last date to register for JEE Main 2022 session 1 was April 25, 2022.

Q.6: Are NCERT textbooks enough to crack JEE Main examination?
Ans: NCERT books cover all the important topics that could be asked in the JEE Mains exam. One must start JEE Main preparation with NCERT books; however, for a variety of questions, one can refer to other books. JEE main toppers & experts recommend NCERT books to crack JEE Mains.

Q.7: Can I qualify for JEE Mains with 3-month preparation?
Ans: The 3-month JEE Main preparation is usually not enough time to crack JEE Mains. However, if candidates have also been preparing extensively for board examinations, then they may have a better chance of qualifying in JEE Mains with the proper strategy. Consistency and hard work is the key to success.

Q.8: What kind of questions will be asked in the JEE Main 2022 exam?
Ans:
Candidates will be asked Multiple Choice Questions and Numerical Answer Type Questions. There is also a section that will test the drawing skills of the candidate.

Q.9: How many attempts are allowed in JEE Main exam?
Ans: Candidates can attempt the JEE Main exam twice a year and can appear for three consecutive years from the year of passing their class 12 exam. NTA has not mentioned the upper age limit criteria for JEE Mains candidates.
