It is a project funded by the government of India’s Direct Benefit Transfer scheme. The MahaDBT portal’s primary goal is to enable the efficient implementation and disbursement of scholarships to students in Maharashtra.

As presented above, 5 different Maharashtra Scholarships are offered under the Maha DBT SJSA Scholarship. SJSA Scholarship Eligibility Criteria for all the schemes are given below:

MahaDBT Directorate Of Higher Education Scholarship Eligibility
13 different types of scholarships are given to students under the MahaDBT Directorate of Higher Education Department. The DBT Scholarship eligibility criteria for all the 13 schemes are given below:
1. Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Scheme Eligibility Criteria a. Student’s Domicile: Maharashtra b. MahaDBT Directorate Of Technical Education (DTE) Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
There are 2 different schemes under the MahaDBT Directorate of Technical Education department viz., – Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Yojna and DrPanjabrao Deshmukh Vastigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna (DTE). The eligibility criteria for both the schemes are common as listed below:

Annual Income: Shouldn’t exceed more than 8 Lakhs
Course Attendance: More than or equal to 50%
The student should not have more than 2 years gap in the course

MahaDBT VJNT, OBC & SBC Welfare Department Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
There are 8 different schemes of scholarships that are awarded to students under the VJNT, OBC, and SBC Welfare Department. The main aim of this department is to provide Post matric scholarships to VJNT, OBC, and SBC category students. The eligibility criteria for each scholarship vary from one to another.
1. MahaDBT Post Matric Scholarship for VJNT Students Eligibility Criteria: a. Category: VJNT, OBC, and SBC Category students only b. Students must have enrolled in a course that is approved by Maharashtra state. c. Family annual income should not exceed more than 1 Lakh d. The student should be admitted through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) e. The student should maintain at least 75% attendance in the current academic year
2. Tuition Fees and Examination Fees to VJNT Students Eligibility Criteria: a. Category: VJNT Category students only b. Student must be a resident of Maharashtra c. Family annual income should not exceed more than 8 Lakh d. Students must have enrolled in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries or Health Science related courses. e. Students must have enrolled in aided or unaided government colleges in technical education.
3. Maintenance Allowance to VJNT and SBC Students Studying in Professional Courses and Living in Hostel Attached to Professional Colleges EligibilityCriteria: a. Category: VJNT and SBC Category students only b. Student must have enrolled in professional courses such as Engineering, Medical, Veterinary, Architecture, etc c. Family annual income should not exceed more than 1 Lakh d. The student should get admission to a professional college only. Students who have been admitted to government colleges are not eligible for this scholarship.
4. Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship for Students Studying in 11th & 12th Standard of VJNT & SBC Category Eligibility Criteria: a. Category: Vimukta Jatis, Nomadic Tribes, and Special Backward Classes b. Student must be studying in Class 11 or Class 12 Junior College c. Students shouldn’t have any educational gap
5. MahaDBT Post Matric Scholarship to OBC Students EligibilityCriteria: a. Category: OBC category students only b. MahaDBT School Education And Sports Department Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The School Education and Sports Department, also known as SESD, has two different schemes that offer scholarships for Junior College students. The Maharashtra Scholarship eligibility criteria for each scheme vary and candidates will have to fulfil the following eligibility criteria to avail of the MahaDBT SESD Scholarship.
1. MahaDBT Open Merit Scholarships in Junior College Eligibility Criteria a. Student must have enrolled for Class 11 or Class 12 b. Student must have obtained at least 60% in SSC exams
2. MahaDBT Merit Scholarship for Economically Backward Class Students Eligibility Criteria a. Student must have obtained at least 50% in SSC exams b. Students must have cleared the board exam in one attempt
MahaDBT Directorate Of Medical Education and Research (DMER) Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
DMER or Directorate of Medical Education and Research Department has two different schemes through which students can avail of the scholarship. DMER Department is specially designed for the students who wish to avail the Maharashtra Scholarship for medical courses. The DMER Scholarship Eligibility Criteria is given below:

3rd Step: Here click on the “New Applicant Registration“.
4th Step: A new page will open. Enter Applicant Name, User Name, Password, Email ID, and Mobile.
5th Step: Click on the “Get OTP for Email ID & Mobile Number Verification“.
6th Step: You will receive the OTP to your Email ID and Mobile Number. Now enter the OTP number which you have received in the “Enter OTP for Email ID & Mobile Number” box.
7th Step: Now click on the “Register” button.
8th Step: You will receive the login credentials to your mobile number and email ID. Make note of your Login Credentials.

MahaDBT Username Reset
Candidates who have forgotten their MahaDBT login user ID can reset their username. The procedures to reset the username are outlined below.
1st Step: First, go to the official website. Select the applicant login option from the drop-down menu.
2nd Step: On the login screen, select ‘Forgot Username’ from the drop-down menu.
3rd Step: Fill in your personal information, such as your name, phone number, and date of birth.
4th Step: Select ‘Get Username’ from the drop-down menu. A pop-up window will show on the screen telling you that the username has been successfully delivered to your registered mobile phone number.
5th Step: An SMS will be sent to your registered cellphone number stating that your username has been sent.
MahaDBT Username Password
Students who have forgotten their passwords can reset them using the procedures outlined below.
1st Step: First, go to the official website. Select the applicant login option from the drop-down menu.
2nd Step: On the login screen, click the ‘Forget the Password’ link.
3rd Step: Finally, type in your login.
4th Step: A pop-up will display stating that your OTP was successfully sent to your registered cellphone number. On the pop-up window, click the Ok button.
5th Step: In the area below the username, type the OTP. A new page will appear after that. To change your password, use the ‘change password option’.
6th Step: Type in both your old and new passwords, then confirm the new password.
7th Step: Finally, select Change Password from the drop-down menu. Your password will be successfully reset after that.
MahaDBT Apply Online Scheme
1st Step: Now you will see a list of suggested schemes. Go through the list of eligible and suggested schemes.
2nd Step: Now choose the scheme under which you would like to avail of the MahaDBT Scholarship.
3rd Step: Click on the “Apply for Scheme” button. You will be successfully directed to a new page.
4th Step: Upload all the necessary documents.
5th Step: Finally, click on the “Submit” application. The officials will soon update the MahaDBT Status.

The course duration of 2 years or less- Rs. 5,000
Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) Scholarships
100% tuition fee waived for Government & Non-government aided courses for students up to Rs. 2.5 Lakh family annual income.
Students with a family annual income up to 8 Lakh will receive 50% Government and Non-government aided tuition fees.
50% and 100% of the examination fee will be paid for professional and non-professional courses.
Assistance to Meritorious Students Scholarship – Junior Level
The AMS junior-level scholarship amount is up to Rs. 3,000.
The AMS senior-level scholarship amount is up to Rs. 7,000.
Education Concession to the Children of Ex-Servicemen
The college dress allowance and books allowance is paid up to Rs. 445.
Eklavya Scholarship
The scholarship is worth Rs. 5,000 is for all the sanctioned students.
State Government Open Merit Scholarship
Rs. 100 per month will be paid directly to the student’s bank account.

The award is for the child of Registered Labor/Alpabhudharak (Marginal Land Holder) is as follows:
Scholarship worth Rs. 30,000 is awarded to students in the institutes in MMRDA / PMRDA / Aurangabad City / Nagpur City for the period of 10 months.
Scholarship worth Rs. 20,000 for 10 months for students in other areas.
Students whose annual family income is up to 8 Lakhs will be given the following awards:

The scholarship eligibility is divided into groups A- E:
Group A- Rs. 425 per month for hostellers and Rs. 190 per month for day scholars will be given.

Group C- Rs. 290 per month for hostellers and Rs. 190 per month for day scholars will be given.
Group D- Rs. 320 per month for hostellers and Rs. 120 per month for day scholars will be given.
