About NDA & NA EE 2022

About Exam

NDA stands for National Defence Academy. The NDA exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). It is conducted twice a year for admission to the Navy, Army and Air Force wings of the Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) and NDA. It is important for candidates interested in joining the Defence Forces such as Army, Navy, and Air Force in India. The NDA and Naval Academy (NA) Examination are national-level entrance examinations administered to hire the best cadre for the defence forces of India. NDA exam is conducted twice a year, referred to as NDA and NA I and NDA and NA II Exams. UPSC selects a list of candidates who obtain minimum qualifying marks in the written exam and are called for a Services Selection Board (SSB) interview for the Intelligence and Personality Test.

UPSC has released the names of candidates who passed the written exam on May 12, 2022. Moreover, UPSC NDA 1 result 2022 was announced on May 9, 2022. The written exam was passed by a total of 8,262 students. Read on to know more.

NDA & NA EE 2022 Exam Summary

On December 22, 2021, the Commission will issue the NDA & NA (I) 2021 notification. The deadline for online applications is January 11, 2022. The NDA Notification was issued for admission to the NDA’s Army, Navy, and Air Force wings for the 147th Course and the 109th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). NDA & NA EE 2022 Stages of Exam

Mainly there are two stages in the NDA exam to recruit suitable candidates for various posts of the Army, Air Force, and Navy to serve the nation. The first stage of the NDA selection procedure is a written examination, and the second stage is SSB Interview. Candidates who qualify for the written exam will be moved to the SSB Interview round.

SSB interview comprises two stages. The first stage is the screening stage, in which the majority of candidates can be listed. In the second stage, the officers analyse the candidate’s personality and involve group tasks, psychology tests, and various other assessments.

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the SSB interview round, and the selected candidates will be put for Medical examination. Finally, UPSC will publish all the qualifying candidates’ names in the final merit list after completing the NDA Selection Process.

NDA & NA 2022 EE Exam Pattern Details - Scoring Pattern

Candidates must be aware of the NDA exam pattern while preparing for the examination. NDA exam paper consists of two sections:

1. Mathematics 

Mathematics section consists of 120 questions for 300 marks. Each question carries 2.5 marks which will only be allotted for choosing the correct answer. 0.83 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

2. General Ability Test (GAT)

The GAT is further divided into two sections- English and General Knowledge. It comprises a total of 150 questions (50 from English and 100 from General Knowledge). This section contains a total of 600 marks questions, 200 marks are allotted to the English section and 400 marks in total are allotted to General Knowledge. In this section, candidates will be awarded 4 marks for each correct answer and 1.33 marks will be deducted for each incorrect response. There will be no mark for unanswered questions.

NDA & NA Job Profile & Salary

NDA is one of the best career options for those who want to serve their life for the Nation, and it is a very respectful, challenging position with lots of responsibilities. NDA gives a high salary, job security, pension after retirement and many other benefits. Army, Navy, and Air Force are the three different fields in NDA. UPSC NDA Job Description

After clearing the NDA examination, candidates need to go to an academy. Candidates of all three fields are trained together before going to the respective service academies. Some responsibilities of NDA cadets are as follows:

  • Performing physical activities (exercises) includes a gruelling schedule of drills and PT from 4 AM to 6 AM.
  • After breakfast, they have to go to the class on time as more importance will be given for time and punctuality.
  • The classes will end at 2 pm and another 45 minutes will be given for lunch.
  • There are no gaps in between to take a rest.
  • From 3-6 pm is reserved for developing a spirit of “camaraderie and sportsmanship”. 
  • From 6:30 pm to 8:30 is used for studies after that dinner will be provided. 
  • Dinner makes way for another hour from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm and a half of PT and games. 
  • Lights go out at 10:15 pm and the cadets should repeat the same cycle for three years of training.

Academic and physical training will be given for selected candidates of NDA for a period of 3 years. The training is common for the cadets of three different wings during the first two and half years. Then they will be put in a particular stream. All the passed out cadets will be awarded degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi as follows:

  • Army Cadets – B.Sc/ B.Sc (Computer)/ B.A
  • Naval Cadets – B. Tech Degree
  • Air Force Cadets – B. Tech Degree

Once cadets complete their training successfully they will be sent to their respective wings that they have selected like for army cadets Indian Military Academy (IMA), for air force cadets Air Force Academy (AFA), for navy cadets Indian Naval Academy (INA) and here the cadets will be trained for another 2 years. Here the cadets will be trained about their duties and responsibilities. After passing this stage, the Passing Out parade will be held and after this cadets will be posted as officers in their respective wings.

Before starting preparation, have a thorough knowledge of the NDA Syllabus and the exam pattern.

 

  • Make a proper timetable for your NDA Preparation and follow it properly without wasting time.

  • It would help if you found your strengths and weaknesses.

    • In the NDA exam, Mathematics is a vital subject for candidates planning to face this exam.
    • It would help increase your speed of making calculations to complete the paper in a given time interval.
    • Give more importance to the essential topics, start preparing them first, and delegate time for the complex issues.
    • Refer to the previous years’ papers and sample papers under consideration for better practice.
    • Learn simple tips, tricks, and shortcuts to solve the numericals for efficient time management in the exam.

    • Remember that the GAT section covers the central portion of the NDA test, so you should not ignore any aspect of this section.

SSB Interview Tips

Before the SSB interview, candidates must complete themselves with Pre-interview preparations that include individual behaviour, talking sense, hands eyes position, discipline etc. SSB interview is almost a five days process in which candidates are streamlined to choose the best.

NDA & NA 2022 Exam Taking Strategy

  • In the last couple of days, do not study any new or uncovered topics.
  • Revise short notes that you have made while preparing.
  • Reach the exam venue at least one hour early with required documents.
  • Be mindful of the negative marking scheme of the exam. Do not answer randomly to the question which is not sure.
  • Utilise the exam duration wisely without wasting time.
  • Do not waste time in guessing or predicting the answer, rather try to answer the questions which you know very well.

In the Calculus part, Integration and Differentiation are important topics that need to be covered first. Referring to the previous year papers helps to get some important questions from these two chapters that can be repeated for the coming exam. Integration and differentiation are very scoring and highly recommendable. Aspirants who do not have a mathematics background in their college or higher secondary level are suggested to cover the basics of mathematics first. Candidates need to spend at least 2 or 3 hours on these two topics every day which will be more helpful to crack the exam. For more information, refer to the NCERT Mathematics books or Books of Dr. RD Sharma.

Another most important topics you need to cover are Matrices, then Straight Lines and 3D Geometry. You can expect at least 10 questions from these chapters. Also complete Arithmetic Progressions, Probability, Geometric Progressions and Trigonometry. All these are the most important chapters that cover 120 questions in the exam.

For the GAT (General Ability Test), candidates need to study History, Geography, Civics, and also brush up the NCERT textbooks of high school. Candidates can refer to the NCERT textbooks of Class 11 and 12 for Physics and Chemistry.

About Exam
NDA and NA (I) 2022

UPSC released NDA-1 Exam Notification 2022 on 22nd December 2021 announcing 400 vacancies for male and female candidates to be recruited for National Defence Academy and Naval Academy. The online registration process has been scheduled from 22 December 2021 to 11 January 2022.

NDA & NA (II) 2022 

UPSC will release the NDA and NA (II) 2022 notification on May 18, 2022. The online applications will be accepted till June 14, 2022. The notification has been released for the admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy for the 146th Course, and for the 108th Indian Naval Academy Course commencing from June 2, 2022.

NDA & NA 2022 EE Application Form Filling - Start & End Date

The NDA (I) Exam application form was released on December 22, 2021. Candidates can fill out the NDA application form only through online mode. The deadline for submitting the application will be till January 11, 2022.

Admit Card Date

The availability of admit cards was released on March 14, 2022.

NDA & NA EE 2022 Exam Date

UPSC has announced NDA I and NDA II Examination dates. NDA I Exam will be organised on April 10, 2022 and NDA II will be held on September 4, 2022.

NDA & NA EE 2022 Result Date

On May 12, 2022, the Union Public Service Commission announced the list of candidates who passed the written exam. On May 9, 2022, the UPSC NDA 1 result 2022 was released. 

NDA & NAEE 2022 Admit Card

Admit Card

UPSC releases the NDA Admit Card on its official website three weeks before the exam. The NDA Admit card contains examination details such as student’s name, registration number, exam centre, exam date, timing, etc. The candidates will not be allowed to appear in the examination without their admit card.

The steps to download the NDA Admit Card are as follows.

Step 1: Visit the UPSC official website hence, you have to open https://upsconline.nic.in/.

Step 2: click the ‘e-admit card’ option from the various examinations. 

Step 3: You will be redirected to an instruction page, read all the instructions carefully and agree to the terms and conditions before you download your NDA Admit Card 2022.

Step 4: Now candidates can click on the ‘Yes’ option.

Step 5: Another page will open with options for Registration Number and in the text box fill in your date of birth. Provide your roll number or registration number apart from entering the date of birth .

Step 6: After that a CAPTCHA image will appear on the screen, enter the image that you see. Click on submit.

Step 7: Now you can see the NDA Admit Card 2022 on your displayed screen. Download the soft copy of your NDA Admit card that appeared on the screen and take a print or hard copy of it for future reference. 

Candidates can download their admit card once it is released by the UPSC and they can find the below details in their NDA admit card.

  • Signature and Photography of the candidate

NDA & NA EE 2022 Result

Exam Result

The NDA Exam result has been announced for NDA 1 2022 exam on Mazy 12, 2022. The written exam was passed by a total of 8,262 students. The UPSC published the NDA 1 result in PDF format on the official website, along with the roll numbers of candidates who passed the written exam. Candidates who passed the written exam will be invited to an interview with the Services Selection Board (SSB). Once done with the SSB interview round, the SSB result, medical result and final merit list will be announced within 40 days after the SSB round.

Step 2: Type the exam name on the homepage search bar and click on it.

Step 3: You will be directed to the next page, now enter your registration number and the captcha image code and click on submit option.

NDA & NA EE 2022 Job Profile & Salary

Job Description

NDA is one of the best career options for those who want to serve their life for the Nation and it is a very respectful, challenging position with lots of responsibilities. NDA gives high salary, job security, pension after retirement and many other benefits. Army, Navy, and Air Force are the three different fields in NDA. After clearing the NDA examination, candidates need to go to an academy. Candidates of all three fields are trained together before going to the respective service academies. Some responsibilities of NDA cadets are as follows:

  • Performing physical activities (exercises) includes a grueling schedule of drills and PT from 4 AM to 6 AM.
  • After breakfast they have to go to the class on time as more importance will be given for time and punctuality.
  • The classes will end at 2 pm and another 45 minutes will be given for lunch.
  • There are no gaps in between to take a rest.
  • From 3-6 pm is reserved for developing a spirit of “camaraderie and sportsmanship”. 
  • From 6:30 pm to 8:30 is used for studies after that dinner will be provided. 
  • Dinner makes way for another hour from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm and a half of PT and games. 
  • Lights go out at 10:15 pm and the cadets should repeat the same cycle for three years of training.

Academic and physical training will be given for selected candidates of NDA for a period of 3 years. The training is common for the cadets of three different wings during the first two and half years. Then they will be put in a particular stream. All the passed out cadets will be awarded degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi as follows:

  1. Army Cadets – B.Sc/ B.Sc (Computer)/ B.A
  2. Naval Cadets – B. Tech Degree
  3. Air Force Cadets – B. Tech Degree

Once cadets complete their training successfully they will be sent to their respective wings that they have selected like for army cadets Indian Military Academy (IMA), for air force cadets Air Force Academy (AFA), for navy cadets Indian Naval Academy (INA) and here the cadets will be trained for another 2 years. Here the cadets will be trained about their duties and responsibilities. After passing this stage, the Passing Out parade will be held and after this cadets will be posted as officers in their respective wings.
