NEET 2022 Exams Update: The NEET-UG 2022 exam was held on July 17, 2022. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon announce the result for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2022 on the official website at neet.nta.nic.in. 

Previously, NMC eliminated the maximum NEET age limit. Candidates can also expect NTA to soon release the NEET official answer keys on the official website. March 7, 2022: NMC has released an official notification that 50% of private medical seats will be offered at the same fees as government colleges.
February 16, 2022: NTA will conduct the NEET 2022 exam offline between the last week of June and the first week of July, according to reports. NTA has yet to confirm this.

NEET UG 2022 Highlights

The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, AYUSH, Veterinary, and other medical/paramedical entrance exams in India. Every year, around 15 lakh applicants take the NEET UG exam. The exam is given in 13 different languages.

The following changes have been made to the NEET UG Exam 2022:

  • NEET’s duration has been increased by 20 minutes. Instead of three hours, the exam will now last three hours and twenty minutes.
  • The application cost has been raised by INR 100 across all candidate groups.
  • The registration process will not be divided into two stages.
  • The tie-breaking formula has been updated, and six additional factors have been added to the existing three.
  • The number of exam cities in India has climbed to 543 and 14 abroad.

NEET UG 2022 Latest News: NEET UG Postponed

A notice in the name of the NTA was circulating on social media alleging that the NEET UG exam date has been moved to September 4. According to the Press Information Bureau, such a claim is false “A notification had gone viral on social media saying that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has rescheduled the NEET (UG) for September 4th, 2022, rather than July 17th, 2022. This notification is a forgery. No such notice was issued by the NTA”.

NEET UG 2022 Latest News: Registrations Increased

This year, the total number of registrations for the NEET UG 2022 examination has surpassed 18 lakh. According to official figures, over 18.72 lakh students have registered for the undergraduate medical entrance exam, with over 10.64 lakh women and 8.07 lakh men.

This year, 771 candidates are foreigners, 910 are non-resident Indians, and 647 are Overseas Citizens of India card holders. Most participants chose English as their exam medium, followed by Hindi and Tamil.

NEET UG 2022 Updates: Counselling

Candidates taking the NEET and participating in the AIQ NEET counselling must register online. To qualify for the counselling process, one must achieve a minimum percentile, or the NEET cut-off, in order to qualify for counselling. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has been delegated 15% of the total contribution from all government colleges for all applicants falling under AIQ (except for colleges of J&K state).

Candidates can also fill seats from the following quotas through NEET UG Counselling:

  • Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) medical institutes have an IP (Insured Persons) quota.
  • Seats at Central and Deemed Universities
  • Pune AFMC (Armed Forces Medical College)

NEET Counselling results are released as a list – seat allotment list. The corresponding state counselling officials will carry out NEET UG counselling for the remaining 85 per cent of seats given in private and government medical colleges.

What Is New In NEET Counselling?

  • The number of colleges participating in AIQ counselling for NEET has grown. In comparison to last year, the number of medical colleges has increased dramatically.
  • The growth in the number of participating universities has resulted in an increase in seat availability for AIQ admissions.
  • MCC will conduct counselling for 85 per cent of ESIC and Vardhman Mahavir Medical College seats. The IPU administration previously carried it out.
