NEET Dress Code 2021 by NTA – Overview
NEET 2021 dress code by NTA familiarises the candidates with clothing and items that are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall. Any candidate who is found to be wearing prohibited items listed in the NEET dress code will not be allowed to enter the NEET 2021 exam centre. Thus it is advised that all the candidates follow the guidelines and avoid any unnecessary hassle.

New Changes In NEET Dress Code 2021 by NTA
The list of changes implemented in the NTA NEET 2021 Dress Code is as follows:
|(1) Face masks and gloves are made mandatory and all the candidates must wear them throughout the duration of the examination.|
|(2) Heavy jewellery, watches and other wearable devices are not permitted in the exam hall.|
|(3) Candidates must not wear full-sleeved, light-coloured clothes at the exam centre. This is applicable for both Male/Female candidates.|
|(4) NEET aspirants must not wear clothes with big buttons to the exam hall.|
|(5) Shoes, Bellies, Sunglasses, Wallets, handbags must not be carried to the examination hall. Slippers, sandals with low heels are permitted.|
|(6) Boys are not allowed to wear Kurta Pyjamas and Girls are not allowed to wear Sarees to the exam hall.|
Note: In case of any deviation required due to unavoidable (medical, etc.) circumstances, specific approval of NTA must be taken before the Admit Cards are issued.
National Testing Agency will be specifying the dress code in the official brochure. There are special guidelines for candidates who wish to appear in a customary dress. |(3) Kurta Pajama is not allowed for male candidates. Simple pants or trousers are preferred.|
|(4) Male candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam hall with shoes. They can take the test wearing sandals or chappals with thin soles.|
NEET Dress Code 2021 For Female Candidates by NTA
Here is the NEET 2021 dress code for female candidates. These guidelines are exclusively posted by NTA and should be followed at any cost.
|(1) Female candidates should not wear clothes with embroidery, flowers, brooches or buttons.|
|(2) They should not wear clothes with full sleeves on the day of the exam. Female candidates should wear half sleeved clothes on the exam day.|
|(3) Candidates must avoid high heels and thick soles. They should wear sandals or slippers. Low heel footwear is also allowed.|
|(4) Female candidates should not wear any jewellery like earrings, nose pins, rings, necklaces, anklets, bracelets, or pendants. Metal detectors may cause hassle while checking.|
Customary Dress Allowed By NEET Authorities
Candidates, who follow a particular religion that requires the following of customs, can appear for NEET in their customary dress. According to the High Court of Delhi, Sikh candidates are allowed to carry kara, kirpan or kanga with them. Muslim females are allowed to wear Burkha. While filling the application form for NEET, candidates are asked whether they wear a custom dress or not and what customary dress they will be wearing. These candidates will be required to report at least an hour before the commencement of the exam.
List of Barred / Banned Items For NEET 2021
Candidates are not allowed to carry certain items inside the examination hall. They will have to go through the compulsory frisking before entering the NEET exam centres.

|(1) Stationery items such as textual material, geometry or pencil box, plastic pouch, calculator, pen, scale, pen drives, eraser, log table, Electronic pen, scanner, writing pad, bits of paper, etc.|
|(2) Any communication device like mobile phones, Bluetooth, earphones, microphones, health bands, etc.|
|(3) Other items like wallet, goggles, handbags, belts, cap, etc.|
|(4) Watch, bracelet, camera, etc.|
|(5) Any ornament or a metallic item, etc.|
|(6) Any food items opened or a packed water bottle, etc.|

Points To Note:
- Any applicable order of Hon’ble Supreme Court/High Courts will be followed in this regard.
- No arrangement will be available at the exam centre to keep the belongings of candidates.
- In case any candidate is found to have any of the barred items, it will be considered as an unfair means and action will be taken against the candidate.
NEET Guidelines For Diabetic Candidates
Diabetic candidates appearing for NEET 2021 exam are required to follow the below-given guidelines:
|(1) Diabetic candidates are allowed to carry eatables like their sugar tablets, fruits (banana, apple, orange), and a transparent water bottle to the exam hall.|
|(2) They will not be allowed to carry packaged items like chocolates, candy, sandwiches, etc.|
