UGC NET Application Form 2022: The National Testing Agency started the application process correction facility for UGC NET exam on August 19 to 23, 2022. Applicants who have successfully submitted the UGC NET application form can correct the mistakes (if any) on the official website of NTA. The UGC NET exam will be conducted from September 20 to 30, 2022.

The merged UGC NET 2022 exam for the December 2021 and June 2022 merged cycles took place in June 2022 and will be held in September 2022. The admit card for the Phase II exam will be issued on September 16, 2022. Candidates were able to apply for the Phase II exam from July 11, 2022, to August 17, 2022. UGC NET 2022 Application Form Link

The application form links for the UGC-NET December 20221 and June 2022 cycles for Phase I and Phase II closed on May 30, 2022 (5:00 PM) and August 17, 2022, respectively. Candidates preparing for Assistant Professorship, Junior Research Fellowship, or both for Indian Universities and Colleges must submit their application form well in advance of the deadline.

UGC NET 2022 Apply Online: Documents Required

It is advised that candidates keep their documents ready before filling the UGC NET form 2022 application. The NTA will not be responsible for any technical or network issues candidates might face on the last day of the application submission. Hence, candidates are required to keep the following documents ready as mentioned below:

  1. Copy of the University or Board Certificate to prove the candidate’s official name, Parent’s Name, and Date of Birth
  2. Aadhaar Card
  3. ID proof such as Bank Account Number, Passport, Ration Card, Voter ID, or any other official Government ID
  4. Qualifying mark sheets or the mark sheet of the last semester
  5. The Corresponding and Permanent addresses along with Pin codes
  6. Names of four names as per the candidate’s choice
  7. Code of NET subject
  8. Code of the subject at post-graduation level
  9. Code of post-graduation course
  10. Category Certificate if applicable
  11. EWS certificate (if applicable)
  12. Physical Disability Certificate (if applicable)
  13. Email Address and Contact Number
  14. Scanned Images in JPG or JPEG format

UGC NET Registration Fee 2022

The application fee for UGC NET 2022 will be submitted online. Payment modes such as Debit Card, Credit Card, and Net banking are accepted. A reference number will be created to complete the payment, which should be saved for future reference. The exam fee for different categories is as follows:

Note that the application form for UGC NET will be considered for further processing only after the successful payment of the fees. Also, candidates are expected to preserve the hard copy of the filled application form without fail.

How To fill UGC NET Online Application 2022?

To apply online using the UGC NET form 2022, candidates must follow the steps outlined below:

Stage-I: Fill UGC NET Registration Form

  1. Go to the official website of NTA – https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/
  2. Click “Application Form for UGC NET December 2021 and June 2022 cycles” on the homepage.
  3. A new page will open. Now, click on “New Registration” on the left panel.
  4. An instruction page will be displayed. Read it and click on the ‘checkbox’ present at the bottom of the page. Next, click on the button “Click Here to Proceed”.
  5. The registration page will open. Enter details such as the Candidate’s Name/ Mother’s Name/ Father’s Name, Date of Birth, etc. Enter the contact details like, Address, Mobile Number, Email ID, etc.
  6. Once you have filled in all the required details, enter the Security Pin and click on “Submit”.
  7. After successful submission of the details, an Application Number and Password will be generated. The details will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number and email ID.

Stage-II: Complete Online Application Form for UGC NET

  1. Once you have registered with NTA, you will need to log in to your account using the login credentials – Application Number and Password.
  2. Enter the following details:
    • Personal Details include the Candidate’s Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, etc.
    • The candidate’s Communication Details include Address, Locality, City, District, State, PIN Code, Permanent Address, etc.
    • Educational Details include details of Schools and Colleges studied, Course Name, Name of the College, Year of Passing, etc.
  3. Candidates also need to choose their preferred exam centre, Subject at PG level, NET subjects, PG Graduation course etc.
  4. After filling in all the details, verify them and click on “Submit”.

Stage-III: Upload Photograph and Signature

Candidates need to upload the scanned images of their Photograph and Signature as specified below:

  1. The scanned image must be in jpg/ jpeg format.
  2. The photograph must be taken on or after October 01, 2021, preferably indicating the candidate’s name and the date of taking a photograph. The candidate should not be seen wearing goggles or caps in the photo. Regular spectacles are allowed.
  3. Computer and Polaroid-generated photos are not acceptable.
  4. Application without a photograph shall be rejected.
  5. After uploading the document, candidates must preview their uploaded images.
  6. Once completed, click on the “Submit” button.

Candidates must upload their scanned images and signatures following the specifications listed in the table below:

Stage-IV: Payment of UGC NET Application Fee

  1. After uploading of images, the next step is to pay the UGC NET application fee.
  2. Candidates need to pay the fees through online mode only.
  3. Choose one of the online payment methods available and pay the fee by entering all the required details.
  4. After successful fee payment, take the printout of the application form for further reference.
  5. The confirmation of fee payment and the receipt of the online transaction will be displayed on the confirmation page of the UGC NET December 2021 – June 2022 cycle.
  6. Candidates whose fee is not received till the last date will not be considered for the exam.
  7. In case of discrepancy or error in receiving the receipt of the fee, candidates should reach NTA with the proof of fee paid. The photocopy of the transaction slip through Debit/ Credit card/ Net banking/ Paytm will be considered as proof.

Stage-V: Download Confirmation Page

When the application fee is successfully paid, a confirmation page is generated. Candidates must print at least four copies of the confirmation page for future reference. Following that, the UGC NET 2022 application process will be completed.

Note that the UGC NET form fill-up will be considered for further processing only after the successful payment of the Application Fee. Also, preserve the hard copy of the filled application form without fail.

Important Instructions for UGC NET Registration Form Filling

Candidates need to take a note of a few important instructions and follow them while filling the UGC NET Registration Form.

  1. Candidates must register before beginning the application process. They must have a valid email ID and mobile number for registration.
  2. The application form which does not have proper information or no photograph will be rejected.
  3. Candidates must cross-verify the information in the UGC NET Apply Online Form 2022 before final submission.
  4. Save the registration number once it is displayed on the screen. The information must be safe until the UGC NET selection process ends.
  5. It is advised to fill the application form during non-peak hours to avoid server slow-down issues.
  6. When the transaction is being processed, do not click on the “REFRESH” or “BACK” buttons on the browser, as it will lead to transaction failure.
  7. Upload the signature as per the specified information mentioned in the above section.
  8. Provide correct contact details as the authority will not be responsible for missing important information.
  9. All the online application form filling stages can be done together or at separate timings.

UGC NET Application Form Correction 2022

After the application process, NTA allows the candidates to correct particulars in the online application form. Candidates can visit the official website and make the necessary corrections if required. Candidates can check the following steps to correct the application form as mentioned below:

  1. Visit the official website of NTA.
  2. Click on the application form correction.
  3. A login page will appear. Enter the application number and password.
  4. A page will appear. Read the instructions carefully and click on the ‘Proceed’ button.
  5. Make the changes in the application form.
  6. Click on ‘Submit’ button.
  7. Review the corrections made in the form.
  8. Click on the final submit button.
  9. Take a printout of the final confirmation page of the application form.

UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2022

Before filling out the application form, candidates must check the eligibility criteria for the December 2021- June 2022 cycle of UGC NET as mentioned below:

UGC NET Age Limit

  1. For JRF, the general category candidates must not be more than 31 years old. (This age limit is applicable for this cycle only)
  2. The age limit will be relaxed by 5 years for reserved category candidates. Relaxation will apply to candidates with research experience or limited to the period spent on research in the relevant or related subject of post-graduation degree.
  3. Also, there will be a relaxation of 5 years for women candidates.
  4. Candidates with a Master of Laws (LLM) are liable for a relaxation of 3 years.
  5. A relaxation of up to 5 years is applicable to the candidates who have served in the armed forces.
  6. There will be no upper age limit for candidates applying for UGC NET Assistant Professor.

UGC NET Educational Qualifications

  1. Candidates must have a master’s degree or must have cleared equivalent examination by a recognised university. Final year students completing their post-graduation can also apply.
  2. General/ Unreserved candidates must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in their masters programme to apply for UGC NET.
  3. SC, ST, OBC, NCL, and PwD candidates require at least 50% marks in master’s or equivalent degrees to appear for this test.
  4. Candidates pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or appearing for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) exam and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed can apply for this test. In such cases, candidates will be admitted provisionally and after they pass their master’s degree with 55% for the General category and 50% in the case of SC, ST, OBC, and PwD, their admission will be confirmed.
  5. Candidates who have finished their post-graduation by September 19, 1991 and possess a PhD degree are eligible for the exam. Also, these candidates are liable for 5% relaxation in the aggregate marks.
  6. Transgender category candidates are liable for the same relaxation criteria as SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates.
  7. Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their Post Graduation only.
