NEET Notification 2020: National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed NEET 2020. The exam will be conducted on September 13, 2020. The admit card is expected to be released in the last week of August tentatively (August 29). Earlier, NTA released the application for NEET 2020 on December 2, 2019. The last date to fill the application form was January 06, 2020 and the exam was scheduled on May 3, 2020.
However, due to COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown in the country, NTA postponed the exam which was scheduled in May via a notification on March 27, 2020.
NTA again released a revised notification on May 22 wherein they scheduled NEET 2020 on July 26 but due to the rising cases of Coronavirus in the country and the pressure from students and parents, the exam was postponed. NTA released a notification on July 3, 2020 which rescheduled NEET 2020 to September 13, 2020.

NEET Notification – Eligibility Criteria
NTA has elaborately discussed NEET eligibility criteria specifying age limits, educational requirements, nationality, relaxation for various categories.
A candidate must be of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year Undergraduate Medical Courses.
The upper age limit for NEET UG is 25 years at the time of admission with a relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL category and PwD Candidates.
NEET Qualification Code
|Code:1||Those candidates who are appearing or awaiting the result of class 12th are eligible to appear for NEET but they need to produce the relevant documents at the time of admissions in MBBS/BDS.|
|Code:2||Those studying in the higher/senior secondary examination or ISC (ISC) equivalent to class 12 exam and comes after a period of 12 years of study are eligible for this code. The last two years must include science subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English(core subject).
Those candidates who have passed class 10+2 in 2019 or before and have not pursued any other course after completing class 12th have to choose this code.
|Cpde:3||Those who have appeared for intermediate/pre-degree examination in science with physics, chemistry, biology, biotechnology and English as core subjects can select this code. Also, those who have completed the qualifying examination can go for this code.|
|Code:4||Candidates who have completed as well as passed in pre-medical/pre-professional exam after qualifying in HSC can choose this code. The qualifying examination must also include science practical tests.|
|Code:5||Candidates who are completing three years of bachelor’s degree with physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology and English as main subjects and have qualified the first year with the practical test are eligible to apply for this code. They are also required to pass 10+2 in order to apply via this code.|
|Code:6||Those who have a B.Sc degree with at least two of the subjects – chemistry, physics, biology (botany/zoology) and biotechnology are can choose this code. Along with that the candidates are also required to pass class 12th with PCB and English.|
|Code:7||Candidates who have passed any examination equivalent to the intermediate examination of any Indian University with Physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology and English are must select this code. The qualifying last two years should include Physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology along with practical tests.|
NEET Notification – Application Form
NEET 2020 Application form was released on December 2, 2019 by NTA. The application form was available in the online mode only. The candidates are advised to confirm that they fulfill the required eligibility before filling the NEET registration 2020.
Prerequsite for NEET Application form:
- Candidates must have a vaild email id and phone number.
- Candidate need to have all the required documents such as Passport photograph, thumb impression, signature, passing certicicates etc. in digital format as per the defined specification by NTA.
- Candidates must have required credentials for the payment of application fee online.

NEET Notification – Admit Card
The candidates who have successfully filled the application form can download the admit card online at ntaneet.ac.in. The admit card will be released 15 days before the exam. Candidates will not be sent hard copy of the admit card, they need to download the admit card and take a prinout of the same. Candidates need to carry the admit card in the examination hall or they will nit be allowed to sit for the exam.
NEET Notification – Syllabus
According to NEET notification, the NEET syllabus contains the topics from Physics, Chemistry and Biology of classes 11 and 12. The sullabus of NEET is available in the information brochure also. Candidates must prepare for the exam as per the syllabus so that they do not miss any important topic for the exam.

NEET 2020 result will be released in online mode at the official website. Candidates will be able to check their score card by using their login credentials. The scorecard will contain the subject wise score, total marks, all India rank, category rank and qualifying status of the candidates.
Along with the declaration of result, NTA also releases All India merit list, which list all the qualified candidates as per their rank. The merit list is used by various counselling bodies to provide admission to candidates in their desired colleges.
NEET Notification – Counselling
The merit list declared by NTA is used by various counselling bodies to allot seats in various colleges to the candidates. The counselling process takes place for two category of seats.

The counselling process is similar for both categories of seats, only the conducting body differs. The counselling process for NEET will be conducted in online mode by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota Seats and by the State medical authority for State Quota Seats.
The counselling process is centralized and no individual institutions will be involved in the process.
