BENGALURU, MAY 4: The NEET 2019 exam has been cancelled for candidates appearing in Odisha state. The examination authority, National Testing Agency (NTA) has cancelled NEET UG 2019 in wake of Cyclone Fani. The notification has been issued a day before the scheduled exam date, i.e., May 5, 2019.
According to official notification, “NEET exam scheduled for 5th May in Odisha has been postponed as per the request of State Govt working on relief and rehabilitation work in the wake of Fani Cyclone. Revised dates for the exam in Odisha will be announced soon.”
The cancelation of NEET 2019 exam for Odisha state has bring big relief to candidates. Now the examination authority NTA, will issue new NEET exam date for Odisha candidates in few weeks after the normalcy returns to state after Fani Cyclone.
Earlier, on May 1, State Government of Odisha has released the notification of closure of Government and Private educational institutions from May 2, 2019 due to Fani cyclone. In the notice the State government has also stated that all the exam should be cancelled till further notification so that students academic sessions do not hamper.
NEET is scheduled to be held on May 5 across India at more than 2200 exam centres. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test commonly referred as NEET is the only national level undergraduate medical entrance exam of India for admission to over 95000 MBBS and BDS seats offered at medical and dental colleges of India, expect AIIMS and JIPMER.
Candidates who will appear in NEET 2019 on May 5 can check NEET answer key to calculate their score based on correct and incorrect responses marked during the exam.
As per the official figures, last year a total of 12,69,922 appeared for admission to more than ninety-five thousand seats.
