About NIACL Assistant Exam 2025
The NIACL Assistant exam is conducted by New India Assurance Company Ltd. (NIACL). NIACL is a well-known public sector general insurance company located throughout India. In its most recent notice, NIACL invited applications for 500 posts of Assistant. The NIACL notification for the Assistant recruitment was published on 16th December 2024.
The NIACL Assistant Exam is conducted to recruit Assistants every year. This year, registrations started on 17th December 2024 and continued until 1st January 2025. The admit card for Assistant recruitment was issued on 16th January 2025, and the NIACL Preliminary exam will be conducted on 27th January 2025 (Monday).

NIACL Assistant Exam 2025 Overview
Every year, the NIACL Assistant Exam is conducted to recruit Assistants. The NIACL exam is divided into three stages. The preliminary examination is the first part of the NIACL Assistant recruitment process. The Mains exam is the second part of the recruitment process. NIACL Assistant Exam Pattern 2025
Aspirants must first understand the NIACL Assistant Exam Pattern before commencing their preparation. Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Interview are the three phases of the NIACL AO Selection Process. Candidates who pass the Prelims Exam will qualify for the Phase II exam (Mains). Candidates who are shortlisted for the Phase II exam will be called for a Regional Language Test.
The final decision will be based on the NIACL Mains test and the Regional Language Test results. Each of the papers in the NIACL Assistant Exam Pattern for Phase I & II is explained in detail. The candidates undergo three stages of the exam. The selection process for the NIACL Assistant exam is as follows:
- Candidates must undergo eligibility conditions.
- Candidates need to appear for the preliminary exam and clear the same.
- The prelims exam will be objective, whereas the mains exam will be objective and descriptive. To be included on the final merit list, the candidate must clear both phases.
Stages of NIACL Assistant 2025 Exam
The candidates who are eligible for the posts of NIACL assistant must pass three stages of the examinations. They are listed below:
- Tier I – Prelims Exam: The Prelims exam is the first phase of the NIACL assistant exam. Except for the English language section, the question paper will be in English and Hindi. Since there will be sectional cutoffs, candidates must pass each section separately. Phase 1 exam simply acts as a qualifying nature for Phase 2 examination.
- Tier II: The qualified candidates in the prelims exam are eligible to write the mains exam. The main exam will be 250 marks, and the total duration of the test is 120 minutes. The candidate needs to secure a minimum passing mark in the mains exam.
- Regional Language Test: Candidates who pass the Tier II or Main Examination will be invited to complete the regional language test. This stage is used to assess the candidates’ writing, speaking, and reading abilities. This section is just for qualification purposes, and candidates will not be given a score for it.
- Final Selection: Based on the Mains examination marks and regional language test performances, candidates will be shortlisted for the NIACL Assistant mains examination.

- There will be an overall cut-off.
- The prelims exam will consist of only three sections: English, reasoning and numerical ability. In contrast, the Main exam will conduct five sections: English language, numerical ability or quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, general knowledge and current affairs, and computer knowledge.
- Negative Marking 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question (0.25 marks) will be deducted as a penalty.
- There is no negative marking for unattended questions.
- The paper will be an Online MCQ in which each question will have five options & candidates have to choose the correct one.
- There are a total of 100 questions asked in the NIACL Preliminary Examination and 200 questions asked in the NIACL Mains Examination.
- The total marks of the prelims examination are 100 marks, whereas there will be 200 marks in the NIACL Assistant mains exam.
- Candidates need to complete their preliminary examination within 60 minutes or 1 hour from the start of the examination, and they complete the main examination 120 minutes or 2 hours before the start of the exam.
- There is a pre-described time limit for every section of the prelims examination and there is no sectional timing in the mains exam.

The main examination of the NIACL Assistant is conducted online for five sections, Quantitative Aptitude, General Arithmetic and Reasoning, English Comprehension, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, and Computer Knowledge and it contains a total of 200 questions.
The main examination of the NIACL Assistant should be completed within a time frame of 120 minutes or 2 hours to complete the exam. Candidates who are appearing for the mains examination of NIACL Assistant complete their examination within the time given. Once the time is completed, automatically it will exit from the exam. The candidates who are appearing for the mains examination are required to pass the prelims examination.

NIACL Assistant Exam-taking Strategy
The following are the general rules for applicants to follow on the day of the exam and the additional guidelines included because of the COVID-19 scenario. Candidates must carefully read them and ensure that they adhere to every one of the rules.
- Candidates must be at the exam centre at least 15 minutes before the time listed on their admission card.
- Candidates are recommended to check out the venue a day before the exam to acquaint themselves with the route to be on time for the exam.
- Candidates must have a 50 ml hand sanitiser with them.
- They must have downloaded the Arogya Setu App to their phone.
- The use of any electronic equipment, such as a calculator or notes, books, pages, and other similar items, is prohibited inside the exam hall.
- For the exam day, candidates must purchase blue/black ballpoint pens.
- They must not bring any rough worksheets; they will be provided at the centre.
- Candidates must wear a mask and have a personal, transparent water bottle with them.

NIACL Assistant Result 2025
The assistant results for the prelims test are announced by NIACL a few days after the exam is concluded. Candidates who score higher than the cutoff marks on the NIACL Assistant Prelims test will be eligible to take the NIACL Assistant main exam. The NIACL Assistant mains exam result will be published on the NIACL official website. This page will be updated with the date of the NIACL result announcement. To guarantee that they do not lose out on the opportunity to take the NIACL language competence test, candidates must carefully monitor the information provided here and on the official website.
Online application for NIACL Assistant comprises three steps:
- Application Registration
- Payment of Fees
- Scan and Upload of Photograph, Signature, Left Thumb Impression, Hand Written Declaration
NIACL Application Registration Follow the steps illustrated below for NIACL Assistant online application registration:
- Visit www.newindia.co.in, go to the recruitment section and click on the option ‘apply online’.
- Click on the link “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” to register yourself. You need to provide your Name, details and Email-id, mobile no. etc. After registration, a provisional registration number and password will be sent to the registered email address.
- If any candidate can’t fill the application form at one go, they can save the inputs by clicking “SAVE AND NEXT” and complete the application after re-login.
- Validate your details and Save your application by clicking the ‘VALIDATE YOUR DETAILS’ and ‘SAVE & NEXT’ button
- Proceed next to fill in other details of the Application Form. Candidates must preview all details filled by them before “FINAL SUBMIT”.
NIACL Assistant Application Fees Payment
- Once you’ve finished your final submission, go to the ‘PAYMENT’ tab and make your payment. Click the ‘SUBMIT’ button after making a successful payment.
- Only online payments are accepted for application costs. Debit cards (Rupay/ Visa/ Master/ Maestro), credit cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, and mobile wallet can all be used to make a payment.
- Candidates must not use the redirect or refresh button until the server gives them permission. Following successful payment, candidates will receive an e-receipt.

- Handwritten Declaration in CAPITAL LETTERS shall NOT be accepted in any case

NIACL Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2025
Age Criteria
Candidates must be at least 21 years old and no more than 30 years old. According to government regulations, there is age relaxation for designated categories.
- Lower age limit- 21 years
- Upper age limit- 30 years
Age Relaxation However, some age relaxations are given for candidates who belong to special categories such as other backwards castes, SC, ST etc. The list of age relaxation for different kinds of categories is listed below.

Nationality:
- Candidate applying for recruitment in the Company must be either: –
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 intending to permanently set in India, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.
Education Qualification
An candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government. The candidate must have passed English as one of their subjects in SSC/ HSC/ Intermediate/ Graduation. The candidate must have a certificate confirming that he or she has passed the qualifying examination as of the date of application registration.
A candidate must be able to communicate in the regional language of the state for which he or she is applying. Candidates must be fluent in the State/Regional UT’s language (candidates must be able to read, write, and speak the State/Regional UT’s Language in relation to the positions for which they wish to apply). (A language test will be administered prior to final selection to determine the candidate’s knowledge of the State/Regional UT’s language.) Candidates who do not pass the Regional Language Test and are not regarded proficient will be disqualified.
Note: Candidates are recommended to ensure that they meet the age, educational qualification, and other eligibility conditions before applying; if found ineligible, their candidature will be cancelled at any stage of the recruiting process.
Number of Attempts
Students can appear for the NIACL Assistant preliminary examination until they fulfil all eligibility conditions prescribed by the NIACL. The students who are qualified in prelims exams are eligible to write the mains examination.
Language Proficiency
NIACL assistant preliminary exam was conducted in online mode. The language of the question paper is either in Hindi or English only. It is necessary for an applicant to be fluent in the state’s regional language for which he or she is applying. State-wise regional languages required as per the NIACL are listed below.

NIACL Assistant Admit Card 2025
Candidates who completed the online application form successfully will be invited to the preliminary examination. NIACL Assistant admit cards for those applicants are available on the website. No applicant is permitted to enter the examination hall without a valid admit card.
