NEET Merit List 2023: Results, Toppers List, State Wise

NEET Merit List 2023: The NTA publishes the NEET Merit List 2023 based on the NEET 2023 score for applicants who selected the 15% AIQ seats. The DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, after receiving the NEET 2023 Merit List and will forward it to MCC for use in 15% AIQ NEET Counseling. MCC assigns seats via NEET Counseling based on the rankings and results from NEET 2023.

First, the authorities publish the provisional merit lists based on applicants’ participation in the admissions process. The ultimate NEET allotment lists, which include the names of the applicants, their rankings, and the name of the college assigned to each rank, are made available to the public following the conclusion of each round of counselling.

NEET Merit List 2023

Based on the NEET AIQ merit list, the Centralised Counselling Process (CCP) will take place by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). After that, the DGHS will send the NEET AIQ merit list to the counselling authorities of state and union territories. Then the state authority will prepare the state-wise NEET merit list for state counselling.

NEET PG Merit List 2023

NTA prepares the NEET 2023 rank list with marks based on the marks obtained by the students in the NEET 2023 exam. On the NEET scorecard, candidates can check the All India Rank, scores, roll number, etc. Furthermore, MCC also considers the NEET scores for preparing the NEET All India rank list 2023 of the candidates for each NEET counselling round. The merit list of NEET consists of the names and roll numbers of candidates arranged in successive order who will secure under 15% AIQ seats.

The NEET merit list 2023 will be of four types:

  • NEET PG Merit Rank: This list will include the roll numbers of candidates appearing for the entrance examination. Aspirants will be allotted a rank as per their qualifying status.
  • 50% All India Quota Rank: This list includes the candidates who qualify for NEET and are eligible for NEET PG 2023 counselling of 50% All India Quota seats. MCC will not include candidates from the state of Jammu and Kashmir in the NEET PG 2023 merit list.
  • All India 50% Category Rank: A category-wise merit list mentioning the NEET PG 2023 rank of aspirants per their respective categories. This merit rank will be valid only for 50% of All India Quota seats.
  • State/Union Territories NEET PG Merit List 2023: The respective State/UTs counselling committees will derive a separate PG medical merit list based on the NEET PG 2023 merit list. MCC will use this merit list for admission to 50% of state quota seats and all seats in private colleges.

NEET UG Merit List 2023

The MCC will soon release the merit list for NEET 2023, conducted on May 7, 2023. After MCC conducts the counselling for 15% of All India quota seats, the state counselling for 85% of seats will begin.

The MCC is responsible for 15% of All India Quota seats. For admission to the 85 % state quota for all private medical and dental institutes seats, the state counselling committees publish the NEET 2023 state rank list. The medical entrance NEET exam scores determine the AIQ and state rank list for NEET 2023.

The NEET UG merit list 2023 will be of two types:

  • All India Quota Seats: The merit list includes all competing candidates’ overall rank status. Hence, it is prepared based on the All India Rank (AIR). It is for candidates eligible for 15% of seats based on the All India Quota rank.
  • State Quota Seats: The remaining 85% of seats are for candidates based on their state rank. Thus, the remaining 85% of the seats are on the State merit list.

State-wise NEET Merit List 2023

The respective state counselling authority bodies will prepare a state-wise merit list based on the NEET All India Rank and candidates’ domicile. Candidates can further check this article to know more about the NEET 2023 AIQ and the state quota merit list.

NEET 2023 Counselling

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts NEET-UG 2023 counselling for admission to 50% AIQ seats, all deemed/central universities, and ESIC/AFMS colleges. The Directorate General of Health Services (on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee) will conduct NEET PG counselling 2023 for seats under the All India Quota and in central and deemed universities, while the respective state counselling authorities will handle the state quota seat allotment process. Only qualified candidates will be able to attend NEET PG 2023 counselling.
