AMIE Courses 2020: Eligibility
The Institution of Engineers (India), the largest multidisciplinary body of engineers has a set eligibility criteria for candidates who wish to appear for the entrance exam pursuing their dream course of B.Tech. The eligibility criteria are the minimum required criteria which a candidate needs to meet in order to appear for the exam. Candidates are always advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the entrance. Candidates need to meet the below given criteria before applying for any of the course given above in the table.
- Education: Candidate should have studied at least Diploma and 10+2 before applying for AMIE.
- Diploma: The candidate should have passed class 10th and must have Polytechnic Diploma, Diploma from IETE, IME, ICE, IGNOU, CIPET, and NTTF, etc. To get admission in second year directly as lateral entry.
- Class 12th: The candidate must have passed class 12th examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as a mandatory subject. He/she should have scored at least 45% marks and must have secured at least 45% marks in PCM respectively. He/she must have scored grace marks in English.
Note: If a candidate is going to appear for AMIE after passing diploma in Engineering then the candidate has to pass a total of 13 subjects i.e. 4 subjects in Section A and 9 subjects in Section B. In a case of class 12th only, candidate has to pass 19 subjects i.e. 10 subjects in Section A and 9 subjects in Section B
AMIE Courses 2020: Exam Pattern
Mode of Exam: AMIE will be conducted by the Institution of Engineers (India), via offline mode i.e. pen and paper mode.
Question Type: The question paper will be in multiple choice questions i.e. MCQs
Sections: The question paper will be divided into two sections.

AMIE Courses 2020: Syllabus
The syllabus of AMIE 2020 will be based on the subjects studied in the qualifying examinations by the candidates. All the topics of class 10th and 12th will be asked in the entrance exam. Moreover, the question paper will be divided into two sections i.e. Section A and Section B. Section A will be divided into two parts i.e. Diploma Stream and Non-Diploma Stream and Section B will be divided into 11 different streams based on the candidate’s preference of engineering branch.
