About Exam

Exam Brief

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, or HPBOSE, is a department of the Himachal Pradesh government. The board was established in 1969 under Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1968, with its headquarters in Shimla. In January 1983, it was relocated to Dharamshala. The board currently has around 8000 schools as members. Every year, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education establishes 1650 examination centres for around 500,000 students. The Himachal Board of School Education is also in charge of Class 10 and 12 board exams.

Now, the HP Board for Class 11 has gained prominence because it was the year when students could choose a specialisation for further study and lay the groundwork for their future careers. Realising the value of digitisation, HP Board has made all of its functions available online. The board also prioritises primary education and seeks to ensure that a girl child receives free education.

Preparation Tips

Students taking the Class 11 test in Himachal Pradesh must be aware of preparatory suggestions. This list of HPBOSE Board 11th test preparation tips for 2022 can assist students in passing the exam with flying colours.

  • To plan a study time and develop time management skills, look at the HPBOSE board 11th timetable 2022 and create a study programme.
  • Make a list of the important subjects and questions that come up again and again, and practise them.
  • At least a month before the test, students should finish the whole HPBOSE 11th syllabus 2022 in order for them to have adequate time to revise.
  • It is essential to take small breaks in between study sessions.
  • By December, you should have completed the whole syllabus, so that there is ample time to go through the curriculum again.
  • When you’ve finished the curriculum, concentrate your review efforts on the weakest areas.
  • Examine the Class 11 previous year question papers to gain a sense of the kind of questions, patterns, and so on.
  • To improve speed and accuracy, practise HPBOSE sample papers.

Exam Taking Strategy

Strategy

Details

Use the time well in the exam

Read all the questions in a quarter-hour. While reading, mark the questions as easy, manageable and hard. This is often done to possess an overall idea about the questions and make a rough plan.

Read the question paper well

When writing the answers, you initially have to understand what’s being asked and how many marks it contains. The solution should be written accordingly- logically and comprehensively.

Prioritise the questions

Always attempt the straightforward questions first, then advance to the manageable ones and make sure that you complete them before taking over the difficult ones. This will make sure that you’re not leaving any questions that you know. Once you successfully attempt all the straightforward and manageable questions, your confidence will grow, and you’ll be able to combat the tougher questions.

Keep eye on the watch

Keeping an eye on your watch is not to increase your stress, but to ascertain that you are adhering to the time allocation.

Do not use the normal slang

Keep in mind that written English is different from spoken English. Using slang words or SMS language will be counted as spelling mistakes, and you’ll be penalised for an equivalent.

Speed and accuracy

Avoiding silly mistakes is extremely important to save lots of time. Keep timing yourself, and avoid careless mistakes.

Maintain a neat and clean handwriting

Write your answer in a clear and legible handwriting. Remember that if your answer sheet isn’t clean and handwriting is illegible, you might lose a few marks. Use a margin wherever necessary.

Use normal language

While writing your answers, ensure that you use an easy to understand language. An examiner will preferably be impressed by a conceptual answer written in simple language rather than one with no conceptual language but written in flowery language.

Detailed Study plan

There are mainly four things to be focused on during the preparation process of Himachal Pradesh Class 11 exams:

  • Know the syllabus and exam pattern
  • Make a timetable
  • Self-assessment
  • Revision

Subject

Study Plan

Mathematics

  • Make a separate notepad for essential formulas and go through them again whenever you have free time.
  • Solve all of the problems in your textbook at the same time. Questions have been posed straight from the course books at times, with just minor modifications.
  • To succeed in this topic, you must practise. So, on a daily basis, rehearse your queries.

Physics, Chemistry, Biology

  • Physics and Chemistry chapters are concept-based, and questions from these disciplines will be conceptual or numerical in nature. As a result, get all of the laws, formulae, equations, and diagrams ready, as well as practise problems relating to the topics.
  • It is necessary to concentrate on diagrams in order to prepare for Biology. With the assistance of illustrations, you can learn vocabulary and ideas.
  • Make flow diagrams for essential topics and study the facts and concepts underlying them rather than memorising them.

History, Economics, Polity

  • Making a flowchart for all the dates and events is the quickest approach to prepare for History. Every now and then, go through these flowcharts. This makes it simple to recognise historical occurrences.
  • Practice maps alongside the theoretical portion to prepare for the Geography section. Map work has considerable weight in the test, so don’t overlook it.
  • Make short notes on all of the major Social Science subjects.

English

  • To establish the habit of reading, read at least one paragraph from an English newspaper. This habit will come in handy when it comes to reading.
  • Regularly practise writing parts. Analyse your responses and attempt to improvise in each one. For letter writing, articles, and other writing section questions, ask professors or seniors to create an appropriate structure.
  • Practice all of the questions offered at the conclusion of each chapter and poem for the English literature section. Also, use the class notes to help you prepare for the literature.

Recommended Chapters

Some of the important chapters and topics for the JAC CLASS 10 Exam are as follows:

  • Science – Students taking the JAC test should focus on the Periodic Classification of Elements, Chemical Reactions and Equations, The Human Eye and the Colorful World, Energy Sources, Heredity and Evolution, Life Processes, and Our Environment.
  • Mathematics – Students should increase their practice of statistics, arithmetic progressions, constructions, introduction to trigonometry, and probability in mathematics.
  • Social Science – Nationalism in India, The Nationalist Movement in Indo-China, Federalism, Gender, Religion, and Caste, Political Parties, Agriculture, Resources and Development, and Globalization and the Indian Economy are some of the topics covered in this subject.
  • English – Vocabulary, writing, adjectives, tenses, and reading comprehension are all important topics.

Exam Counselling

Exam counselling

Student Counselling

The decision of pursuing the right career path after the 12th grade is one of the toughest decisions for any student. A majority of students choose courses without correctly evaluating their strengths, weaknesses and interests. Hence, it’s vital for any student to carefully settle on a career course for better prospects in the future.

Parent/Gaurdian counselling

Instead of blindly selecting a career path, it’s very important to be certain and assured about choosing the appropriate course. Parents should understand that not every student is cut out to be a doctor, engineer or CA. Rather than blindly selecting a career stream, it might be beneficial to consult a career counsellor who can guide you with evaluating your abilities and advice you on a suitable career option.
